This is probably Pride related. Awhile back I mentioned that my 15ish-year-old violin student (male) had made the decision to become female. I wasn't sure where he was with his parental support and financing this, but it looks like it's happening. He told me today that he is attending the Philadelphia Trans Heath Conference next week--which is in Pride month. Looks like quite a conference with support and education for all sorts of people--trans people, their families, medical professionals, and more. He has his first appointment with an endocrinologist this summer and it all begins. I can't imagine dealing with these life-altering issues at such a young age. But I'm so glad that this is a possibility now days. I also just found out that another of my former male students dropped out of college to go through a gender change as well. Then he can restart his college years as a woman. Bravo to these young people who will not spend a lifetime in closet. www.trans-health.org/about

Crazyoldgal you have my deepest sympathies. I, too, lost a rescue just last April 4. Amber was the sweetest little English Setter, and when she came to me, she had lots of health problems which never totally went away; but my life was happier for having known her, and I'm sure hers was much happier after she came to me. It breaks your heart to lose them, but it's worth the world to them when you give them a home and love. I know your dog had the best life possible with you.

Reading backwards from end of thread and I just saw this. I am SO SORRY about the loss of your dog. I've been through that several times and it's so difficult. As for Pittsburgh - jeez don't tempt me. I've been tottering on the edge but it would be madness for me to go. I have other commitments that weekend. But I really really wanna go. WUT?!! You live in PA and you're not going?! JazzRocks, I have an extra free ticket. In fact, I have two extra free tickets that a friend gave me. Can I tempt you further? Who knows how long it will take for him to do another show that is 90 minutes. Carpe diem

We have perfect summer weather here and I need to go out to enjoy it. You'll never know what the coming week brings to you in this part of the world - rain or hail is always a real possibility. I was hoping for a break, a slow Adam time that would have coincided very well with the fine weather. It would be so much easier to learn what's happening if there were less of it but no, it seems we get new pics and articles every day. Not complaining but I really was expecting less to read daily. I play Titanium and LWOG on my breaks when I'm home trying to get through my kindly-paced 'spring cleaning' but unfortunately have not enough time to enjoy all the 'a year or three years ago' goodies. That's a pity as many of the older ones are new to me - but I try. A couple of days ago I listened 'Stay' from Seoul (only once) when somebody posted it and I still wake up with it in my head (second or third day in a row). That's not a hardship only a bit astonishing considering all the other wonderful songs and Adam's performances that I listen to. From Adam's latest recommendations I feel 'Hey love' suits best for the summer feeling. Don't be too concerned, I think Adam is fine in all respects - have some feel-good music www.youtube.com/watch?v=0P7N_vlvU8w

crazyoldgal - sending special thoughts your way. I have had many rescues come and go, both to good new homes, and over the rainbow bridge. They know they are loved and we will always hold a special place in our hearts for them.
