12 American Idol Alums Who Would Make Good JudgesJun 11, 2013 04:06 PM ET by Liz Raftery Adam Lambert: Though he says he hasn't been approached to join the panel, consider Lambert the "viewer's choice" judge. The Season 8 runner-up's flamboyant, inventive performances (and appearance) made him one of the most talked-about Idol contestants ever, so having him on the judges' panel would almost surely provide a ratings bump. He's also got the David Cook inventive song arrangement criteria checked off, and has been a guest judge on the Chinese version of Idol.

I think Adam looks great - vibrant and healthy. Don't see too thin or tiny at all.

Just listened to Adam's interview on KDKA -- great, but way too brief. The interviewer expressed a lot of respect for Adam's talent and his accomplishments as both artist and activist. Some highlights:
-- When the interviewer asked Adam if he planned to use his celebrity to support LGBT issues from the start of his rise to fame, Adam said that at first when he was selected for Idol, he was only thinking about boosting his singing career and getting in front of a wider audience. He added that once he started to see the impact celebrities have on others, he felt responsible to use his fame as a vehicle for bringing positive change. He said he would have felt diminished if he had let the opportunity to be a spokesman for change pass him by.
-- The interviewer mentioned how some of Adam's appearances around the world have led to protests and asked him if he felt his activism poses a risk to his career. Adam said yes, it probably does, but he doesn't care, he's just going to do his thing and share his music and be the person he wants to be. And he added, "You know, it's fun to shake things up" and make people think.
-- The interviewer then commented on how Adam has inspired us Glamberts to embrace charities and causes and how much we give to the community, and he asked Adam how it feels to inspire others. Adam's response (not in exact words, but as close as I can paraphrase): "That's the best part of what I do, if I can make people feel good through my music and help them feel better about themselves and get them to care about making things better for others." He ended the call by saying that even though he and the interviewer had been talking about some serious issues, he hopes to see lots of people come down for the show "because it's gonna be so much fun!"

pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2013/06/11/idol-finalist-adam-lambert-gets-serious-on-the-afternoon-news/#.UbeOhVMjYSI.twitterIdol Finalist Adam Lambert Gets Serious On The Afternoon NewsBy: Alyssa Marsico June 11, 2013 4:44 PM PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) – It’s Pride Week in Pittsburgh. The Delta Foundation has been working hard to make sure the City of Pittsburgh has a week to remember. Events include parades, bar crawls and a concert by American Idol finalist, Adam Lambert. Lambert took time out of his day to talk with KDKA Radio’s Joe DeStio about the LGBT community and what it means to him to be a voice for them. Some of Lambert’s concerts and appearances around the world have been protested due to his views. When DeStio asked him how that affected him, Lambert offered a little secret, “Just between me and you, I think it’s a little bit fun.” Lambert goes on to say he wants to live his life how he wants to and not worry about what other people think. Lambert will be headlining the “Pride in the Street Festival” on Saturday. Tickets are on sale now, as well as at the door. Listen to the whole interview: (official podcast)

I couldn't listen live because I had no sound! I didn't realize until too late that I had to disable my AdBloc on FF.
I don't understand why this man isn't loved by everyone on the planet!
NOT SURE WHY THOSE LINKS DON'T WORK!

Adam mention. www.post-gazette.com/stories/ae/theater-dance/stage-preview-actor-george-dvorsky-comes-home-for-clo-691206/#ixzz2VvqOpqBMStage preview: Actor George Dvorsky comes home for CLOJune 11, 2013 .. The singer has performed with orchestras and in opera houses worldwide, and Broadway credits for the handsome 6-foot-4 actor include "The Scarlet Pimpernel," "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," "Passion" and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." A role the he often hears is a favorite of fans is his Tommy Albright from "Brigadoon," which Mr. Dvorsky performed here in 2001."I also did it in 2004 in Houston, and Adam Lambert was Charlie," the actor said of the former "American Idol" finalist. "He was this little red-head, freckle-faced 21-year-old who sang the most beautiful version of 'Come to Me, Bend to Me.' I saw he's going to be here [for a Pride Fest concert Saturday]. Adam stayed in my apartment when he first came to New York, and then we lost touch. ... I hope I get to see him when he's here." .. This is kinda nuts. Early this morning I thought I'd post the "Come To Me, Bend To Me" vid. I checked my post in Pre Idol and a photo was dead and I realized I had more in my files to post. Then I found a ref to a review calling Adam's performance "breath-taking", but no review, no link, nothing. Anyway, I got lost for hours in my Google searches. Never did find that review, but I did find different one and a cast photo, so it's good. Anyway, I came back to post here and see the interview with Dvorsky! ( I stole it for the Brigadoon post.) I wonder if he has any more info. Crossing fingers that this posts ok. His performance of "Come To Me, Bend To Me" is called "swoon-worthy" by the Houston Press and "achingly beautiful" by the Houston Chronicle.

That was a wonderful interview. Adam always expresses himself so well and with such honesty and it is really heartwarming that he appreciates his connection with the fans and the bonds that have formed between total strangers.
Is it the first time that a mainstream radio interviewer has questioned whether Adam's visibility as an out gay performer has affected his career in the music industry? I'm aware it may have been discussed in gay radio chats but I don't recall it surfacing in 'regular' radio interviews? I could well have missed something as he does so many!
