socialitelife.com/watch-adam-lambert-rocks-the-star-spangled-banner-06-2013Adam Lambert, as if you could get any more perfect than you already are! The ridiculously amazing singer took the stage at Broadway Bares last night to bust out the most amazing rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner since Whitney Houston stunned us in 1992. And thanks to a glorious person on YouTube, we get to watch it! He’s just there, on his own, belting that song out and it’s amazing. Y’all, Adam Lambert makes us happy. Check out the video and tell us how much you love it in the comments! Where does Adam’s version rank on your list of favorite Star-Spangled Banners? Cause it’s basically number 1 for me.

cassie, can you simplify this statement? Sorry, not familiar of the application of the word to Adam's voice.... Malcolm @sxmglambert OMGGGG the reverb makes the note on 'there' in 'flag was still there' sound even more epic!!! I'm not Cassie, but I'm pretty sure this person is referring to the reverb (echo) added to the sound system. Adam likes LOTS of reverb. You can hear his voice singing for seconds after he finishes. That is all controlled by the sound engineer.

Every time I play it I keep on getting goose bump... OMG!! And I think we got all this crazy riff, it's because he sang it in Broadway .. in front off all these singers/actress/actors or creative people. With all of the frills and the snappy salute, he was just playing. The whole show was camp. Any serious rendition would have been out of place. I'm not talking about the theatrical act, such as snappy salute etc.. I'm talking about the way he sang SSB last night.. the riff he did. Like Holst said Adam kinda showing off those crazy riff, because it's Broadway and the audience really can appreciate those kind of thing. Compare this Broadway SSB & his SSB on the more serious event such as that Spielberg event few years ago. He still did his amazing riff (coz he's Adam Lambert), but he's more cautious .. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlhlgJ1pQxoThough I love his SSB at Spielberg above, I love the Broadway more. www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5YXtFROpa_E

And one more thing! Adam is the only one I have ever heard, that does the correct intonation for the line "and our flag was still there." I am sure the way Adam sings it is the way Francis Scott Key meant for the meaning of that line to be conveyed! By "intonation" do you mean that he sang that part higher than the song goes there to put more emphasis on it? In music, intonation refers to being in tune. Good intonation is in tune: Adam was. Bad intonation is "pitchy" (to quote a famous man who judges singers but doesn't know falsetto from head voice).

No, I am using this meaning: "In linguistics, intonation is variation of spoken pitch that is not used to distinguish words; instead it is used for a range of functions such as indicating the attitudes and emotions of the speaker, signalling the difference between statement and question, and between different types of question, focusing attention on important elements of the spoken message"The way he sings that line is different than everyone else. I noticed it in the Miramar one back in 2009

I took out the YT because it was messing the quote up! lol mmadamimadamm @mmadamimadamm … "The technique, the mastery and the pure balls it takes to sing like (cont) tl.gd/n_1rl0m5s "The technique, the mastery and the pure balls it takes to sing like this is breathtaking and mind-boggling. You know the guy who just completed a high-wire walk across the Grand Canyon? Well, this is the vocal equivalent." "Yup, singing without a safety net in front of a VERY TOUGH crowd (and watching their jaws drop to the floor)"

"the show must go oooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn "...(right?). One more thing I learned today
