I am giddy with happiness today. I can go back to believing there is hope for the human race after all. Equality makes it so much easier for children to grow up without worrying there is something wrong with them. Equal, we are all equal humans. Just the beginning, but such a beautiful thought.

For this politics watcher, this has been one of the best mornings in a long time. Not only is DOMA struck down and Prop 8 deemed unconstitutional, but at least for today the historic filibuster by Wendy Davis to prevent enactment of SSB5 was successful with the loud and raucous intervention of the gallery. If there is one thing Texans are good at, it is being loud and raucous. It was down to minutes. [snicker] And I do believe at least one intentional misreading of the clock by the conservative majority....... #noyoucan'tvoteaftermidnightandclaimitwasthedaybefore #YayWendy Yeah but, it was a digital record and the Senate majority is only fluent in Texan. LOL. Dewhurst got kind of pissy and said it had nothing to do with when the voting actually occurred, he just didn't have time to sign it. Double LOL. This was fun but of course, Perry will probably call another special session soon. |
