oHH.. do you have another mashed potatoes theory? I do. And if I and my mashed potato friends are right, just remember this photo. I think we will all know why Shosh is coming to LA within a few days, a week at the most! I'll be waiting impatiently then.. LOL

Ack!! That is not my quote!
Sorry mys*&@^#r, I goofed up that quote and I have no idea how to fix it, and also have yet to figure out how to delete posts. I am glad that it was not a label source that about the cover album.

It was not a "label source" -- Shirley wrote, "According to sources, Lambert’s label, RCA Records..." Those "sources" could be anyone but she did not write "a source at RCA". www.hollywoodreporter.com/idol-worship/adam-lamberts-next-album-all-covers-581758So it is a rumor from someone NOT at RCA. Since she just was at an Adam concert with a lot of Adam friends at it, my bet is the rumor is from something she heard at the concert. Still sounds totally wack to me. Ack!! That is not my quote! I know. I just did not want to be part of this story getting all tied up in knots. Shirley is very specific, no one from RCA spoke to her. So unnamed sources told her that RCA is pushing for an album of 80's covers. RCA did not comment on the story. A rep for Adam said, “Nothing has been determined yet” but acknowledges that the idea of a concept album of songs from another era is just one of several currently being bandied about. Then she stitches together a bunch of stuff about Adam doing 80's music to support the idea -- even though we know she is mixed up about Shout. I classify this as mashed yams!! Well beyond mashed potatoes!

I agree, this made me sad. I hate the part were the so called label source said something like the label would be behind a cover album if they got to have input on choice of material and cover art. To me it seemed like a slap in his face because he had so much control over those aspects for Trespassing. He did a very good job with it too. I am so thin skinned when it comes to Adam. Her exact words: "A label source acknowledges that internally, enthusiasm was lacking for the sophomore effort, but that the Sony-owned company could get behind a covers collection so long as execs have input into such aspects as song selection and cover art."
It may not have been an RCA person she was quoting, but it certainly gave that impression. Hopefully Adam has such good news coming he can dismiss all this. Or I hope he has developed a really thick skin. ETA: Adam may or may not feel there was a lack of enthusiasm at one level or another for Trespassing, but the last half of the quote is a real insult to him IMO.

Shirley did say a "label source" but then she said RCA wouldn't comment??

I'm sorry to read that Randy Travis is in critical condition [smiles] Randy probably doesn't have a huge numbers of supporters on this site considering how he interacted with Adam on Idol. Nonetheless, viral cardiomyopathy is quite serious, and I hope - as I would with anyone - that he recovers with no significant long term effects. Life has kicked Randy pretty hard since we saw him on Season 8.

She did write " A label source acknowledges that internally, enthusiasm was lacking for the sophomore effort"....the fact that RCA Records didn't comment doesn't mean her source wasn't from RCA. Confused, are we reading the same article?

55glamgal 55glamgalDavid Bowie, Queen and U2 all had great hits in the 80's! Maybe a collaboration @adamlambert? Whatever, I'm buying it and I'll love it!
