How do you quote part of someone's post and put it in a box ??? To quote the entire post, just click on the "Quote" option in the upper right corner of the post. You will see the quote inside the [ quote author = ....] and [ /quote] tage. If you don't want to include the whole thing (or maybe want to remove a large photo) you can edit the text between the quote tags as long as you leave the tags intact.

My most vivid memory of it was when Kris Allen's mother tweeted "Splain" and then deleted it. What does "Splain" mean? Everybody assumed she was asking him to explain his actions.

Everybody assumed she was asking him to explain his actions. Thanks. It's possible that part of the problem is that most celebrities don't want to give Adam "free" advertising by tweeting him support.

Above the Reply box in which you type your post, there is an icon second from the right on the bottom row that looks like a piece of paper with a yellow arrow at the side of it. When you click on it, you'll get [ quote] [ /quote] (without the spaces) in the Reply box. You can either click on the icon first and then paste the text you've copied from the other post between them (be sure your cursor is between them before you paste the text), or paste the copied material first and then highlight it and click on the icon. ETA: Oh, geez, I'm dumb for not pointing out that the easiest way is just to click the word QUOTE at the top righthand corner of the person's post! The way I described above is more for when you just want to quote a line or two from someone's longer post. Thanks Murly, now all I have to do is figure out how to get an avi : :

Joan is about 90 years old isn't she? And she jokes about how many procedures she has had done to her face - it's a lot - no wonder her face has no movement anymore. Anyway, it is obvious that her comments are all scripted - she is reading them and sometimes stumbles at that. Who writes them? Who knows. It's entertainment. It is the role of the other three to add sane comments and to laugh at whatever she says, no matter how assinine. You can see that it's hard for them to muster up laughs for every word she says. But it's her show and it is what it is. I like Kelly and her comments are usually softer and kinder - and she sure liked Adam's "hot" look as did the other two. I think they should have put him up for best dressed. It would have only been fair - after all, they put him up for worse dressed for the poncho/long hair look. 8-)

Well, my 2 cents on the Joan thing: I hated it and found it offensive. And I don't particularly care if Adam would or wouldn't be offended; I don't base my opinions on what he thinks, LOL. I do get the "in-group, out-group" thing, and that gay men often refer to each other and themselves in the feminine. I also get that some women do, in reference to their close gay male friends. But the reality is, that referring to gay men as female is widely done by homophobic people and is nothing less than an insult, and is fully intended to be. I don't care if Joan is trying to be funny, or if she is liked by the gay community, or whatever. Because for me, here's the thing-- what might be perfectly okay in the context of a club or party or amongst friends is NOT okay on a TV show. How many viewers are "in" on the inside joke? Not that many, I'd bet. Most are just hearing a gay man being referred to as "she" and the other panelists chuckling (including the gay man, wtf) and it's just another of a million examples where put-downs of gay people is fine and dandy and funny as heck. Not okay. ITA and also find it offensive!
