I really wish Adam would write a full critique of his impression of the Grammys, he is very savvy about what is hot and what is not, and has interesting opinions and such a good ear for music in general. i hadn't thought of that career route for Adam, but it has merit. He knows an incredible amount about popular music and about the music business, he is articulate, has a great vocabulary, he knows how to stage a performance --- he would make a great columnist (maybe with Neil to edit for spelling). I am in the camp "not drunk tweeting." What did he say that was so "mean" about Bieber? He said the dancing was sick --- a great compliment. As for vocals? "Eh" is a neutral comment, right? Not praise, but not damning. So-so. His critique of his own vocals -- "a mess" == was much more negative. I don't want Adam to be so hyper-vigilant in his tweets that he cannot say anything except rainbows and puppydogs. Keep on tweeting, Adam!

That's ok - many non-Europeans get the scandinavian countries mixed up - I think it's because we are so small :-/ But I have the same problem with the Eastern European countries, not to mention the individual states in the US. Trying to figure out where you are located geographically especially with the abbreviations isn't always easy I liked that song, thanks - I'm trying to pick up (at work with my speakers turned up as much as I dare) what the girl was saying - in Danish in the background.

If Gaga did this on purpose to create controversy or to try to be the "new" Madonna, she isn't as intelligent as I thought she was. It isn't just us "older" folks who know Madge's songs inside & out - the 20-somethings my husband works with are REALLY into 80's music and know all of these songs. I don't know for sure about those in their 30's, but I would expect they are also familiar with Madonna's songs since they would have still been playing somewhat on the radio into the 90's. The only fans that are only going to know Madonna from Glee are the Teens and younger. Those who know that Gaga is "stealing" from Madge are not going to think of her as a legend and the "new" Madonna. If only the Teens/tweens think she is amazing, she is no better than Bieber. I think her ego is going to destroy her chances of truly being a music legend. Had she stuck with her OWN art and her own music, she would have had a chance to reach that level. (and, no, declaring yourself a genius and legend does not make it true!) Ok I will be 30 at the end of August and I am very familiar with Madonna songs as are most of my friends in my similar age group. I mean I was a kid growing up in the 80's and 90's and these are the songs I remember as a child. Madonna and Michael Jackson. I mean i may have not been old enough to remember when she first came out I defintely remember hearing her music all the time growing up and lets see...Vogue came out in 90 so I woulda been 9. Def old enough to remember pop culture stuff. I agree. There is no living in a vacuum anymore. Pop culture is just to ubiquitous (wait, strike that, my sister some how manages to do it :-/). Well, anyway, the HAC stations in L.A. play old Madonna all the time and classic rock is the dominant rock format in the region. (You are hard-pressed to find a song created in the past decade on many of the rock formats; even the alt-rock, which has had to phase in classic metal lately because they just don't have enough new material.) I mean The Beatles broke up when I was in nursery school, but I still know a great deal about them and hear their music constantly. The same goes for all the biggies that came before our time. Adam knows about the legends of the '70s and '80s, though he was born in '82, most all of us have quite a bit of knowledge about what happened before us. About Joan ... yeah, that is a schtick that, within "the culture" it would have likely been laughed off and Adam wouldn't take it any worse than Perez saying, "Oh girl!" but it really fell flat for me. It was not cool within the circumstances – progress being made in gay rights, etc. and of course, there was nothing remotely un-masculine about Adam's look and demeanor on Sunday. It was just a cheap, lame joke that was straight from 1979. Now, if they were critiquing, say, Adam's FS costume, I could see how some of her or Mario Cantone's humor could be funny in that context.

ITA and meant to add, while I was reading the last page of this thread, I turned on the Grammy's (which I've still only seen on the East Coast stream; have been trying to get through telecast because I want to see Mick, but I've stopped for almost every performance). I wasn't looking at the screen, but the volume is on. I suddenly found myself cringing because someone just hit a clinker of a note. I looked up and it was Usher. (Who I usually like, btw. It was VERY off key; he recovered, but I agree, the vocals were not great.)

Personally, I don't think anyone who has a FACE like Joan's should be critiquing fashion--gay jokes or not. Because clearly they have terrible taste.

I've seen this by many fans but don't remember anyone but Rod Stewart coming to Adam's defense, and that was when he was directly asked? Does anyone remember if Gaga actually tweeted him? I thought, from my memory, we were all kind of upset that Adam was not getting supportive tweets from his peers. The only people I remember tweeting favorable comments after the AMAs were John Mayer and Alison Iraheta.

Lady Gaga tweeted after the AMAs that Adam and all the other performers did a great job. She specifically said "Adam and all the other performers". It was definitely in support of Adam after all the hoopla began. It would have been very strange if she hadn't tweeted, given her stance as icon for the gay community.

This is why, as totally BSC and frustrating as she is to me 90% of the time, I would really love to see them do a duet. Just vocally go insaaaaane. But no eggs or anything. No, as little WTF as possible and just wild, amazing vocals and one crazy passionate performance with Gaga slamming on the piano and Adam wailing and like, no dancers or fire or meat factories or glittery placentas or horns or anything. Ya know? *dreams*
