Now, I “know” that Adam is not doing an 80’s cover album. BUT the RyanSeacrest.com (see below) list was such an insult to the great music of the 80’s, that I decided to create my own list of great 80's songs for the album that is not happening.
I love the 80’s even though it was probably the most mock-eriffic decade of my life so far. For sure, it was rad.

Adam Lambert May Do ’80s Cover Album: 5 Songs He Should Consider

Glamberts get ready: You may be introduced to ’80s music in a whole new way.
According to information gathered by The Hollywood Reporter, Adam Lambert may be following up his 2012 album Trespassing with an all-1980s covers compilation.
The 31-year old American Idol runner-up has already showed his strength in singing classics from that decade as his performance of the 1982 Tears for Fears song, “Mad World,” is still considered one of the best performances ever on Idol.
Apparently, Adam’s record label, RCA, is pushing for a covers album since his sophomore album sold only 185,000, copies, about one-fifth of his debut record For Your Entertainment.
If Adam were to make an all ’80s album, here are a few songs that we think would suit him well (excluding “Mad World,” which he should sing all the time.)
1) Livin’ on a Prayer – Bon Jovi (Slippery When Wet, 1986)
He sure has the chops for this one. The song about a fictional working class couple, Tommy and Gina, was voted the No. 1 song of the ’80s by VH1.
2) P.Y.T (Pretty Young Thing) – Michael Jackson (Thriller, 1982)
Adam has already proved that he can handle a King of Pop song with ease with his performance of both “Rock with You” and “Black or White” on American Idol. “P.Y.T” would give Adam a chance to show off the full range of his voice.
3) Don’t You Want Me – Human League (Dare, 1981)
A great opportunity for a duet on the album,the Human League’s biggest hit has sold 1.54 million copies in the UK alone and has appeared in movies such as Ocean’s Thirteen and He’s Just Not That Into You.
4) Love is a Battlefield – Pat Benatar (Live From Earth, 1983)
This one may fit Adam the best. A Grammy-award winning song about the struggle for love, the track both fits Adam’s vocal range and his push for marriage equality.
5) Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey (Escape, 1981)
You can’t have an ’80s cover album without this song! Everybody would not only expect it to be on the record, but also want it to be.
