While we have no idea what role Adam Lambert will be playing on Glee, or even how many episodes he will be featured on, we just cannot contain our excitement that he’ll be joining the cast. As we reported last night, Glee creator Ryan Murphy tweeted: I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of ‘Glee’ this fall. [laughs] Oh c'mon! I thought it was cool! "You-dissed-Russel-Crowe-let's-see-ya-do-better!!" They set a bar against an A-lister with a huge commercial film! (And yep I'm sure Adam can meet that bar so there!)   What's so weird about the comment that the LA Times made was that Adam seemed to be specifically speaking of the SINGING not the ACTING. So, I don't understand why they seem to be throwing down some sort of towel. Oh well. I've been sooooooo happy today. When I told the news to my dh he actually gasped and then "whooped" out loud. Now, he supports my Adam addiction and he does think Adam is a very generous performer but he doesn't play the You Tubes, etc. So, I was actually suprised by his excitement about the Glee news. As I was shopping today I paused for a momemt as I was particularly happy. I had to stop and think about what it was that was making me feel abnormally joyful. Then, once I checked into all the possible reasons, I realized it was the Adam news. It's just such a wonderful development for him. It's a thrilling turn of events. I think about all those radio tours and interviews -- just endless -- and I'm just so pleased that hard work and determination can pay dividends! Actually, I think the Times was saying Adam, a singer, was critical of the movie using actors who can't sing. So, turn about is fair play. Russell Crowe, an actor, can criticize Glee for using a singer who can't act. But only if Adam can't act. And I feel confident he will do just fine. Not Shakespeare, but Glee doesn't require that. |

Glee Season 5: Lea Michele Reacts to Adam Lambert Casting News Glee just landed American Idol Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert for Season 5, and star Lea Michele (Rachel) took to Twitter not even an hour later to share her thoughts on her new co-star. Creator Ryan Murphy says that Adam is “joining the cast,” which leads us to believe he’s stopping by for a lot more than just a little guest appearance. It’s still unclear if Adam will be a recurring character or a full-time series regular, but our guess is that he’ll be on the show part time. Though some stars might be intimidated to see a big name heading to their show — and potentially stealing some of their spotlight — Lea appeared to feel nothing but excitement about the news. (Lea's tweet here) Glee’s writers are still just getting started writing Season 5, and it appears that Lea doesn’t have any inside scoop about what’s in store quite yet. Still, we definitely echo her sentiments about hoping that Adam’s character will join Rachel, Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Santana (Naya Rivera) in NYC. Can you imagine? We can easily imagine him as one of the Broadway stars that Rachel could work with if she does, in fact, get involved with that Funny Girl revival. We’ve also heard that Kurt will be joining a band. What if Adam was his new bandmate? Because we all know how Kurt feels about singing group frontmen... On second thought, maybe he should just be on Broadway or something. Or anywhere else away from Kurt’ s heart.
