I always look for Brian's smile at 3:45 following AFL's incredible vocals and the audience's applause. I remember being amazed at how Adam's voice carried across the parking lot. It's even more amazing is because Brian wrote the song Who Wants To Live Forever. Imagine how his feeling that someone can interpret his song the way Adam did.

I enjoy trying to figure out the news in advance but I am very cautious of moving from guesses to thinking something will happen. Remember Idol judge BS from last year. I keep see posts here and else well that Adam has a new label. We do not know that. I think he has a new label deal, but he may not. And no fan knows anything about what is really going on. Since it is Billboard, and based on that letter, and JambaJim's tweet, I think Billboard has the article and it is that Adam has a new label deal. That also makes PR sense for a Monday follow-up to this story. And my guess is Shirley wrote the article. BUT that is all just guesses. I can figure out lots of reason why Adam could choose to be an independent artist and just sign with an indie label who has a distribution deal with either Sony or UMG. He would make a lot more money that way and he would have control. And I do not think they would have put that last sentence in if they did not have a deal. "My passion for the music & respect for the fans will always come first. I am excited to find a new label team who shares this vision." Q3, I know absolutely nothing about independent artists, so could you explain what a distribution deal entails and how his music could get pushed to radio should Adam go that route? Thank you!

Thanks MyS*&@^#r! I am hoping for that press release from a new label then, and the sooner the better!
What is your opinion of this IHR rumor? Any idea where this came from?? And is this IHR thing bigger than I am giving it credit for - because I'm just treating it like some puffed up jingle ball/radio festival with a livestream, but maybe I'm underestimating its' importance?

Adam Lambert @adamlambert 46m My deepest sympathies go out to friends and family of Cory Monteith. Such tragic news. 2,619Retweets 1,541Favorites Thank you, adamme, I found it Have to pay attention all the time ... bad fan... interesting - followers growth is so erratic! We had about 1500 for two days following Glee announcement (Wed, THursday), then the smallest day ever at 315 on Friday, another tiny day on Sat. at 580, and all over a sudden a surge today - $2327 at 5:30 pm EST.... I really can't figure it out...why TODAY???? Because his tweeting has been so erratic...he has not often gone these long periods of time with no substantial tweeting before. Somone said, some time back and I have completely forgotten exact circumstances, that they would prefer he keep his tweeting to just his own stuff....pimping appearances, music etc....but that is not what gains him loyal followings, imho. You can see that when each time he tweets something 'personal' his numbers go up.....and when he is silent, it shows.....

Here are a few examples:
"American Idol season eight winner Kris Allen is no longer with RCA Records, a label rep confirms to The Hollywood Reporter."
"In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last week, newly appointed RCA Records CEO Peter Edge confirmed that the 25-year-old DeWyze is no longer on the label."
"Katharine McPhee of American Idol season five has been dropped by RCA. A rep for the record label confirmed the news today."
"American Idol Season 9 runner-up Crystal Bowersox has split with label RCA/Jive, a rep for the singer confirmed yesterday to TVLine."
RCA almost always has a rep make an official statement for the press -- [not a press release].
There are some cases where they say "no comment" but they are rare. And usually an official confirmation is made later. "RCA had no comment on reports that Justin Guarini, the second-place finalist for the first season of "American Idol," has been dropped by the label." Later a rep confirmed the departure.
Yes, they could no comment Adam's departure but I do not think they can or will no comment Adam's departure. They will get too many press calls. If they "no comment", I will take it as a sign that everything is not done. And I really doubt that.
Also, when Adam left 19, there was an official positive statement about Adam from CORE/19R. That is something very unusual. Leaving 19 and getting a best of luck statement. I have not researched other departures but I do not remember seeing them do that before.

All we know about tomorrow is that Billboard will have some additional news related to Shirley's story. Also, Jim Cantiello (@jambajim) who is a long-time Idol report/commentator and nice guy, tweeted that the people at Billboard were Berting a lot. > The IHR Las Vegas lineup -- I think Adam is a long shot to be included in this because it is almost entirely people who are currently on CHR radio. Also Ryan announces this, so it does not fit the Billboard tweet. Last year's announcement: ryanseacrest.com/2012/07/09/taylor-swift-rihanna-no-doubt-more-set-to-perform-at-the-2012-iheartradio-music-festival-video/ Same thing in 2011 www.gossipcop.com/ryan-seacrest-iheartradio-music-festival-announcement-july-11-2011-las-vegas-lady-gaga-jennifer-lopez-mgm-grand/ The artists appear as part of a promo radio deal with Clear Channel. Nothing is impossible but this does not seem likely to me. > Queenbert -- does not seem related to Shirley's article in any way. And although I expect something is in the works, the messaging and repositioning DMG/Adam are doing that the next story should be something about the new label or something that supports Adam as a current pop singer/songwriter and not someone who sings covers. [The Glee story demonstrates he will remain in front of the public.] > It MIGHT be something about a new label. Setting aside the rumors and clues, DMG/Adam closed the open letter with that very telling sentence about a new label. Sometime soon, RCA will make an official statement confirming his departure. That could be on Monday. They have not been in the office since the announcement was made by Adam. *** Normally it would be weeks or months before an artist announces a new label. My best guess is that Adam and RCA ended their relationship in Mid-May. So they could have had a new deal done by now, but that is fast. I would not be surprised if Monday is something else. *** *** Yes, I feel Adam has a new deal already, but I know that is not certain. *** Finally, I have been working (or trying to work) today and so I do not know if there is some new info that makes this post stupid. Q3 - is it common for RCA to make an official statement confirming departures? I thought they never confirmed one way or another and just took people off their website eventually? At least I haven't seen any official statements from them. How do they generally make this kind of official statement? Press release, their website, twitter or ? This "news" we're expecting tomorrow is from an employee at Billboard? Why would this person give out news related to Adam leaving RCA? And also because Jim C said they were "berting" at Billboard? Are these the only hints of more "news" tomorrow, because these seem a bit weak to me, but I am still hoping for news I guess. And even more confusing to me is how the jump was made that this "news" related to SH article about Adam separating from RCA has anything to do with the IHR concert? Just timing? Because they seem so unrelated to me. And IHR is not something I could imagine Queen doing at all or even wanting to do, why? I have watched the IHR concert in the past to see Bruno streaming on my phone, he sang a few songs and it was nice but not a big deal like an awards show or even a concert, I would be disappointed if this was the "news"....... It's a bit confusing I know.. Aside to Jim C twit, it's also because someone (Editor?) from Billboard twitted that "MORE NEWS ON MONDAY" in relation to the Adam /RCA article released by THR. Why someone in Billboard give out Adam news related to RCA? Because Billboard's one of the music industry media. And I really hope the new label announcement will be in Billboard.com instead of THR. Since at the same time IHR concert's going to announce their line up for 2013 on Monday, the speculation's that maybe the news has something to do with the IHR or Adam as one of the line up.. which I don't think it will be.

Q3, I know absolutely nothing about independent artists, so could you explain what a distribution deal entails and how his music could get pushed to radio should Adam go that route? Thank you! It is the same. Go viral and cross over to radio, or play the promo game to get on the radio. MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS are #2 on the CHR chart, had a #1 song, and own their own label. What I have never seen is a major label US artist go viral and get major CHR airplay. I believe that is what RCA tried to do with BTIKM -- they tried to not spend the promo money to go directly to radio. It was doomed to failure because US Radio stations cannot let a major not provide promo support -- they need the money and the advertising support. That is why I was so mad about it in Dec 2011-Jan 2012, it could not work. I have to leave to do some real work. I will just leave with one last thought -- I think Adam will to be signed by a UMG label but he has other options that are very attractive. I think we will find out soon.

I think Adam lost a lot of auditions because he is out of the box and he didn't look like the guy next door. With his hair style and black nail polish. A lot of people judged him from his looks first.. see how the director at the Ten Commandement kept on asking him to clean his nail polish when they're still in practice... also see how Simon's reaction when he first saw Adam. He said he likes the voice but at first cannot decide about his looks and his present. So glad that Paula, Randy and what's her name vote him in first.. after that Simon agreed to let Adam thru to LA.
