There are a couple of other options that might be available to Adam that I have not seen mentioned. 1. Kobalt Publishing with whom Adam already has a signed publishing deal is also providing label services to some of their artists and I think may have actually started their own in house label. 2. Nile Rodgers who tweeted an invitation for Adam to come and write and play with CHIC organization. Nile has his own label and no doubt could sign Adam. 3. Evan Bogart who Adam worked with on Majors & Minors also I believe is reviving a record label that was his father's I think. So that may be another possibility. The thing is any new contract will be void of one of the major drawbacks to the label that the Idol contract was and that is the very large advance that was guaranteed. It is possible that he could be signed with a much smaller advance. Adam is very frugal when he needs to be and albums can be recorded these days with much lower budgets and still be of very good quality. Major label companies have a bad habit of spending money like its going out of style. Back in June of 2012 Katy Perry stated that she was working on starting her own record label. No idea if this is still in the works. |

You guys. Look at my two posts. I found info about Kids and Alex da Kid on Wiki and wrote two posts about it along with hints and people Adam is connecting with. When I come into a thread late, I always read backwards. Helps with redundancy.   .. but mys*&@^#r, you already explained to us who's AlexdaKid yesterday or Friday night when you mentioned again about the "Shhh... " picture and at the same time I think there's a talk about the Cherry Tree label. |

P2 is with Cherry Tree and look at the play he has gotten with his singles. I am thinking Cheery tree might be it because of the tress in his posted "lyrics" It will be SO fantastic to have him with a label that knows how to get radio play.

Honestly, the hip-hop connection scares me, but I do understand the huge popularity of the genre, so be it... (some how I like electronic stuff, it resonates with my SciFi passion, but hip-hop is just annoying...)Can someone explain the business connection among all the UMG entities? What does it mean to be a label "under UMG umbrella"? Do they have access to some shared/centralized resources? What sets them apart?They are divisions within the company. Same as RCA is a division within SONY. |

Adam needs a strong radio team behind him. An independent label isn't that. His new lable is either KidsinaKorner (my number one guess) or Cherry Tree (just because of his poem.) The mashed potatoes are strong for Kids though! I was reading at the rhymes he twitted about, now I can understand what message he's trying to send us: When they said it's love, we forgive the eccentricity
When they said it's love, we forgo the royalties (I was afraid that he has to give up all his royalties to be able to free from RCA) When they said it's love, someone waits beyond the trees(New label/opportunities) And when they said it's love, it's time to roll up on your sleeves (It's time to work harder) For when it's really love, there's no sense and there's no plot (I remembered he's talking about people cannot force arts, and off course RCA wanted the 80's cover) When it's really love, you're prepare to loose all what you got (Because of His love of music, his integrity as an artist and his respect for his fans, he prepares to loose the major label contract and I just hope it's not including all his royalties from all his songs from FYE & Trespassing) instagram.com/p/bNogd6ONBY/#we.. geez guys.. I thought this poem was about DOMA and marriage and the commitment. About LOVE you know, since it talked about love. As usual everything Adam does has a double meaning. What is Katy Perry's label ? Where is she signed ? If not RCA , I think that is where Adam will be signed next.
Katy Perry did very well with her latest album. I am not sure, but I think it was just her second album with her current label ?
Just speculating.
