You guys. Look at my two posts. I found info about Kids and Alex da Kid on Wiki and wrote two posts about it along with hints and people Adam is connecting with. When I come into a thread late, I always read backwards. Helps with redundancy. Yes, I do the same. They are a few post away. Go to the first one - it is longer and I really think you are on to something with Kids. |

Q3, I know absolutely nothing about independent artists, so could you explain what a distribution deal entails and how his music could get pushed to radio should Adam go that route? Thank you! Adam needs a strong radio team behind him. An independent label isn't that. His new lable is either KidsinaKorner (my number one guess) or Cherry Tree (just because of his poem.) The mashed potatoes are strong for Kids though! I was reading at the rhymes he twitted about, now I can understand what message he's trying to send us: When they said it's love, we forgive the eccentricity
When they said it's love, we forgo the royalties (I was afraid that he has to give up all his royalties to be able to free from RCA) When they said it's love, someone waits beyond the trees(New label/opportunities) And when they said it's love, it's time to roll up on your sleeves (It's time to work harder) For when it's really love, there's no sense and there's no plot (I remembered he's talking about people cannot force arts, and off course RCA wanted the 80's cover) When it's really love, you're prepare to loose all what you got (Because of His love of music, his integrity as an artist and his respect for his fans, he prepares to loose the major label contract and I just hope it's not including all his royalties from all his songs from FYE & Trespassing) instagram.com/p/bNogd6ONBY/# |

ok, I am taking his "hints" seriously now and I am sure those lyrics were "the story"... the line about "royalties" makes sense only in the lable context...plus that "shhhhhh" thingy... so, are these labels (Kids and Cherry Tree) have any industry weight? I'm still thinking about all the awards show that QAL can do and it's TV performances... ALSO.. off course Super Bowl Halftime for QAL .. it's a huge TV time. I bet if they can get Q+AL in there the organizer can get LOAD of advertising for Super Bowl. AND... It's a PERFECT way to introduce the collaboration in the US... that's if they plan to have couple of concert in the US. This may have been mentioned since I am only on p. 10, but the 2014 Super Bowl will be televised on FOX from NY/NJ. So.. you think the Boss or Bon Jovi's going to be in the half time? |

Honestly, the hip-hop connection scares me, but I do understand the huge popularity of the genre, so be it... (some how I like electronic stuff, it resonates with my SciFi passion, but hip-hop is just annoying...)Can someone explain the business connection among all the UMG entities? What does it mean to be a label "under UMG umbrella"? Do they have access to some shared/centralized resources? What sets them apart? |
