Just can't believe that Cory Monteith is gone. I remember reading not that long ago in the Sunday paper Parade article about how he had overcome addiction & the story of how he came to Glee. I watched the show a couple times after that to see him. This is so awfully sad. I had wanted to comment on all of Adam's great happenings, but now, at this time, it feels inappropriate. My heart goes out to all at Glee & his family. THIS! What a sad thing to see... Sad... RIP |

So excited for new music and now we know it does exist! I'm trying not to get my hopes up for big news tomorrow. The one tweet wasn't very informative.

So sad about Cory. My girls love Glee and Finn. I saw a few tears in their eyes this morning. RIP Cory.. it's really is #shade of Heath Ledger.

Ok - I wasn't nervous about Glee before, but with Cory's death this is now a minefield. First, Lea is Cory's RL girlfriend. So any Adam storyline with her is now fraught with peril, both on a fanbase level (ADAM CANNOT REPLACE FINN!! HATRED!!) and potentially on a personal, tragic level. Poor Lea. (Don't mean to sound callous, but in cases like this my sympathy lies with those left behind and forced to pick up the pieces). I don't know what Adam's role was meant to be, but the loss of Cory may, indeed, affect what Glee intended for Adam. Second, I thought it would be part of the promo/interview campaign that "Hey, Adam tried out for Glee all those years ago, but he's baaaaack!!" Problem is that, I believe, the part he auditioned for was.....Finn. Ergo, the timing of Adam (a good shot for Finn) coming back just as the original Finn has passed away is not a funny "Oooh, that's hilarious!" sort of thing, but a rather creepy situation. Total coincidence. But potentially distasteful on an emotional level. I really, really hope that Cory's death doesn't hurt Adam's chances for success on the show. And again, I don't mean to sound like an unfeeling jerk, but in cases of death due to [suspected] overdose, I'm usually angrier at the person who died than totally sympathetic. I save that for the people who are left. I've been thinking about this too.. Firstly How is Adam at fault for trying out for the Finn Character,years ago.. Probably only Adam fans know this ,plus I'm sure many folks tried out for Finn. If anything I think Adam will be a very welcome addition to the cast.Adam is a very kind man,if anything he will be helpful. As far as the audience goes , Adam is not replacing Cory.. we have no idea how many episodes he will be in or where he will be.. My gut tells me NYC. IMHO,The show has been getting tired and now with Cory's death ,tired and depressing.Who but Adam, can bring this show new life and vigor. Lea,from what I read ,tried to help Cory and in a way this was a last chance for a continued relationship.. BTW she is authoring a book. Would we feel anything about another star having a part on Glee.. Let's say Ricki Martin was on again..My feeling would be oh he's going to be on the show,having no thoughts about Cory.I guess the caring for Adam makes me worry endlessly about everything he does.. but others in the tv audience.. not so much. I believe ADAM will be a joy to watch & of course "THE SHOW MUST GO ON" To add..Cory was getting less and less Glee time, because of his problems.. The cast is still full of excellent performers.. I'm sure Adam will be one of them for how ever long he is on the show. Thank you for being a voice of reason... I accept those thoughts. Thank you! |

There really can't be much in the delay department,because they have to air on a certain date. IMHO,In show business..there is a pause of respect and then the actors continue on.. Remember Clyde Davis party after Whitney Houston was found dead. .. It was not cancelled.. The old adage "The show must go on".. Some Actors go on the stage even when family members die... Getting the cast together will probably help in the mourning process.. they are there together ,for each other,like a family.. Just my thinking. All of that is certainly true, but Lea is an enormous part of Glee. And I think she may not be able to just jump back into things so easily. OK, thinking about this some more. Assuming the "show must go on" and I think it will... Adam being there might be a good thing, even for Lea. We know how much he is a compassionate people person and so squishy (as in cuddly:-). The perfect shoulder to lean/cry on while mending on set. I think he could give some moral support the is beneficial because he is an outsider right now, but looked up to by the cast and crew. The timing for having Adam around in the tragic moment may be a good thing. We know he will help people with the grieving while lending the air of professionalism to help the show to "go on". Well, that is my hope. Wow, this has brought tears to my eyes for all concerned and his family. Re the Queenbert rumor... Hmm. I think it will be musical announcement tomorrow. And if it is in Vegas, I will be there:-) |
