Now entering its third year, iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas has quickly established itself as a home to a who's who of every major artist across virtually every format on radio. This year's lineup is no exception, with Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Elton John, Bruno Mars and a special pairing of Queen with Adam Lambert among the acts set to lead the bill.

The two-day festival will be held on September 20 and 21 at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Arena, with a first-time Fan Village set to run during the daytime at a 15-acre parking lot adjacent to the arena. That space will be free to ticketholders (or an affordable separate ticket for non-mainstage attendees) and will feature performances from Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, AWOLNATION, Pete Tong, Twenty One Pilots and Jason Derulo.

The main festival lineup was announced Monday morning (July 15) in a press conference hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Clear Channel programming chief Tom Poleman. While a final schedule will be announced close to the festival, confirmed talent includes the aforementioned Timberlake, Perry, John, Mars, Queen and Lambert, as well as Muse, Tiesto, Chris Brown, Keith Urban, fun., Phoenix, Zedd, Maroon 5, Tim McGraw, Ke$ha, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Benny Benassi and other planned surprise guests.

The 2012 iHeartRadio played host to several impromptu duets and collaborations, including a kickoff performance of No Doubt joined by P!nk for "Just A Girl"; Usher joining Swedish House Mafia for the first live performance of their song "Euphoria"; a surprise appearance from Prince for a pair of duets during Mary J. Blige's set; deadmau5 and My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way; Lil Wayne and Keyshia Cole and many more (click here for a full 2012 iHeartRadio recap).

Perhaps the event's most memorable, if ultimately somber moment, was an abbreviated set from Green Day, during which frontman Billie Joe Armstrong famously railed against the festival for (erroneously) cutting the band's set short and proceeded to smash the band's instruments across the stage. The singer checked into rehab the next day, canceling all tour dates and promo appearances for Green Day's ambitious "Uno! Dos! Tre!" album project last fall.

This year's lineup features a performance by Timberlake after his Legends of the Summer stadium tour with Jay-Z concludes and right before Part 2 of "The 20/20 Experience" is released on Sept. 30. Meanwhile, Katy Perry's performance will mark the end of a quiet year for the pop singer, who has been working on the follow-up to 2010's hits-packed "Teenage Dream" album. And the special performance by Adam Lambert and Queen follows last week's news that Lambert has split with RCA Records due to a disagreement over the direction of his next album. Lambert, who released "Trespassing" in 2012, first performed with Queen in late 2011.

What is today's news?

Billboard has some Adam news. All we know is that it is good news, it is somehow related to Shirley Halperin's article about Adam leaving RCA, and it will be released today. It could be additional news about Adam's recording contract. It could be news reported on Billboard by Shirley Halperin.

We have lots of clues but really we know very little.

The two top guesses are:

1. Queenbert is going to play IHR Music Festival (many signs point to this).
[Update: it was this. Great ninja work out there!!]

2. News about Adam's new album and the label who will release it.

It could be both, it could be neither. It could be something we do not expect. But at least we know that it is good news.

I look forward to what we learn later today.

Will Queenbert rejoin for IHR Music Festival in Las Vegas?

No confirmation but signs point to Queen being part of the IHR Music Festival in Las Vegas. Concert line-up announcement will be released at 8:30AM EDT TODAY!

Brian May said in an interview “The only thing we have been pretty ripe on the screen, a few TV shows. One in Las Vegas and one in London. We like to visit Queen play songs with several other artists. We also hope that Adam Lambert is back on board, for we have enjoyed working with him last year a lot.”

In the Austrian daily newspaper "Kronen Zeitung" the 14.07.2013 a report that is published by Brian May & Kerry Ellis concert in Klagenfurt with cutouts on a telephone interview with Brian May. "Krone": How do you feel today about the fact that almost no band had so many big hits like Queen?

May: That's a madness. Sometimes I wake up and still think I am dreaming. We had great ambitions and hopes, when we were young and it is incredible that we were able to meet so many dreams of it. I am really very happy.

"Krone": Do you think that younger bands today can have similar success as then?

May: Things have changed dramatically and it has become very difficult for a young band to earn money. Everyone expects to get the music for free. This is a fundamental problem, but in principle you simply go out and play, develop yourself as an artist. But I do think that the possibilities still exist. You need only muse or the Foo Fighters cite as an example.

"Krone": Are you planning new shows or projects with Queen?

May: The only thing we have been pretty ripe on the screen, a few TV shows. One in Las Vegas and one in London. We like to visit Queen play songs with several other artists. We also hope that Adam Lambert is back on board, for we have enjoyed working with him last year a lot. And besides, we're talking for ages about the Freddie movie. We had been so many problems, which can be an advantage but because you are cautious of it. And because we are very careful, after all we have a huge responsibility to portray Freddie really honest. The job has to fit, finally, we have this one chance.

"Krone": Do you write also on new Queen songs?

May: Hard to say. Queen to make music without Freddie would be strange. I was not sure if that would be a proper Queen album. I wrote a song for Freddie, but that was about it. We tend to work on material that has not yet been published. All holy times you can find again a piece of the past and try to install. We have also found a few songs where Freddie and Michael Jackson sing together. Else I have already written new material, but always thought of Kerry, because she is my inspiration for new music.

Adam Lambert Spotted With Ex Sauli Koskinen, As News Of Adam Leaving RCA Records Breaks

Singer Adam Lambert and his ex-boyfriend Sauli Koskinen were spotted walking to Adam’s apartment in West Hollywood, California earlier today (July 14, 2013).

Adam has been making tons of news lately. First there was the news of Adam being cast in season 5 of Glee, which may be postponed until mid-season due to the death of Cory Monteith.

Adam tweeted earlier today, “My deepest sympathies go out to friends and family of Cory Monteith. Such tragic news.”

Shortly there after the casting news broke, it was revealed that Adam is walking away from his recording contract with RCA after the label insisted his next release be an 80′s cover album, something which he steadfastly refused.

He sent a letter to THR explaining his decision…

“We are indeed having the oft-cited “creative differences” as to what my next project will be. Your article was correct, the label is “pushing for an (80′s) covers album,” and feels that this is the only kind of release they are prepared to support. While there are lots of great songs from that decade, my heart is simply not in doing a covers album.”

“Over the past four years, I have been truly fortunate to work with an amazing roster of producers, writers and engineers. Thanks to them, I have grown as both a songwriter and a vocalist. Artistically & professionally, I think it is essential that I continue with this evolution. I am already deep into writing new material with some very talented colleagues for a brand new album, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to share this new sound & direction. This music is where my heart is, and I believe that is what my fans want to hear.”

Bravo Adam. Not many people have the guts to stand up for themselves, especially to a major record label. However, if anyone could have done it, Adam could.

Adam Lambert Steps Out with Ex Sauli Koskinen After Cory Monteith Condolence

Adam Lambert and his ex-beau Sauli Koskinen make their way to a private residence on Sunday (July 14) in West Hollywood, Calif.

That same day, the 31-year-old entertainer extended his condolences to Cory Monteith‘s friends and family in the wake of his tragic death the evening before.

“My deepest sympathies go out to friends and family of Cory Monteith. Such tragic news.” Adam tweeted.

It was just announced that Adam would be joining the cast of Glee this upcoming season.
