Last year there was a presale. It sold out in 2 minutes.

I really know nothing, but would guess Adam et al have an agreement with another label pretty much nailed down, but why announce it today? The news cycle is crammed with Adam news - RCA and Queen - so waiting a week or so (or even longer) will just give them another news cycle to enjoy.
And - for the worriers - a week ago we had one gig on the calendar... Today we have Glee and Queen! Radio stations in 150 markets will be promoting the festival, with the headline being Queen & Adam. With the performance being streamed and broadcast on TV - and then rebroadcast from time to time, it is nothing to sneeze at.
AND - it would not surprise me if a new single is ready at that time. This management team seems to be doing a terrific job. I am not worried - I am ecstatic!

Yeah I'm thinking an hour set and the way Seacreast said it (now that I could hear it on my break) definitely sounded more like it was QAL with special guests. There was no break in the with special guests that there would have been if it was intended to be about the whole show. Also QUeen's official facebook page and site mentioned Queen + Adam Lambert with special surprise guests so I think it will be within the set. Elton, Dave Grohl/Taylor Hawkins, Matt Bellamy, Nate Ruess the most likely. On another note I wonder if Brian and/or Roger and/or guest during one of their sets as well? Bellamy wrote Soaked so maybe Muse/Adam would do that? Just a thought... I agree. To me it sounds the arrangement will be similar to the 2012 concerts where they had the female guest in Moscow ...so may be this time there will be a couple of guests as part of the whole set based on QAL. on another note: Talon, do you know if they reopened the thread on QOL? Or created a new one? this girl wants to have fu-un...

I think Brian's reference to other artists was that it would not be a QUEEN concert. This will be a Queenbert set. Hopefully for the people lucky enough to be there as good as Hammersmith 2012 -- although not a full concert. I think instead of 2hr Queen concert, it's going to be 1hr May be under an hour -- some were last year.

This is a total win for Adam. He and Queen probably have gotten more US press on this just so far this morning than did last year's collab. I love that it is last in the billing: "special appearance by Queen and AL." Plus, many of the performers are current hit-makers. This may bring in a audience of people who aren't the same old classic rock fans. And I hope to see an excellent tv/online version.
I don't think we'll hear anything about a new label for a couple days since this just hit. Certainly DMG would spread out the goodness a bit.

Here's the thing, they will probably only play for an hour (and maybe not even that). It is being billed as "Queen with Adam Lambert." More than one or two extra guests would make it "Queen with special guests including Adam Lambert." How many songs can they do in an hour? It would be fun to have a bunch of other artists join them onstage for a song. Maybe that will happen.

OMG so thrilled.. Clear Channel Radio stations just might be ready to welcome Adam's up and coming new songs when they are ready.

I really don't think there will be special guests within the Queen set. I think the initial wording of the announcement was just confusing. Ryan (and radio stations) will be announcing some additional performers and guests as the concert gets closer. This is what happened last year. I agree, but whether he's one frontman or one of five is not that important. IHR is just a concert. Though it's an honor for Adam, it's immaterial for his career. I want new music for myself, and I want the new music to find an audience for his sake. For that he needs consistent promotion and now a label, and IHR won't give him either. Glee is far more promising, yet still a gamble. It can lead to fans and sales only if they make the audience care for him long term. Otherwise, it'll be like PLL, which changed little. We're still where we were post tsp, but with no label (as yet), and one major glimmer of hope: Glee, not Queen.
