I really don't think there will be special guests within the Queen set. I think the initial wording of the announcement was just confusing. Ryan (and radio stations) will be announcing some additional performers and guests as the concert gets closer. This is what happened last year. Yep!!. It's not Queen Concert... IT'S FESTIVAL.. so there will be other guests other than Queen. I have no idea how iHeart Festival runs but Sir Paul just performed at the Bonnaroo festival - he did a full THREE (3) HOURS set...

In regards to Adam and leaving RCA:
I love this quote from none other than the infamous Henry Miller.. "All growth is a leap in the dark,a spontaneous unpremeditated act without benefit of experience"
I give you the courageous and unstoppable ADAM LAMBERT

But who knows, maybe someone like Dave Grohl or Nate from fun. will jump in there for something. The interview translation in last night's thread with Brain May skewed my view of "other artists".
May: The only thing on the radar that I can talk about are a few TV shows. One in Las Vegas and one in London. There, we want to play Queen songs with several other artists. We also hope that Adam Lambert is back on board, for we have enjoyed working with him last year a lot.

I think this is the 3rd time in a week that Adam has been in the regular entertainment section of the HuffPost instead of just the Gay section. Nice.

Yeah I'm thinking an hour set and the way Seacreast said it (now that I could hear it on my break) definitely sounded more like it was QAL with special guests. There was no break in the with special guests that there would have been if it was intended to be about the whole show. Also QUeen's official facebook page and site mentioned Queen + Adam Lambert with special surprise guests so I think it will be within the set. Elton, Dave Grohl/Taylor Hawkins, Matt Bellamy, Nate Ruess the most likely. On another note I wonder if Brian and/or Roger and/or guest during one of their sets as well? Bellamy wrote Soaked so maybe Muse/Adam would do that? Just a thought... An upside to this scenario is that other top flight performers will also be "covering" another band's (Queen's) material.
