It's a slow day here. But I checked on MJ's, and the thread on Adam "going rock" is still going strong, up to about 600 posts.
Adam will never be accepted by rock purists, but to me he is more rock than, say "fun", who to me sound like an old Up with America
choral group and yet get called "rock" by the media.
Anyway, does anyone here know what the twitter thing was today between Shoshanna and some of the crazy fans?

It’s unknown how the show will deal with Monteith’s death or if they will feature a tribute to the actor. Earlier in the day, the Vancouver coroner’s office reported that Monteith died from a drug overdose caused by a combination of heroin and alcohol. I just read something on Yahoo, that said no delays, no cancellations, due to the fact there are multiple story lines and gears can be shifted. You psychic, Smokeyvera??? I'd trust Yahoo as a source. Well, we'll see then..Glee is kinda between a rock and a hard place on this one. Even though they can shoot, man, how hard is this going to be on the cast? Since recent news has been about Glee, Cory Monteith's passing and QAL, I thought I'd post this version of TSMGO in memoriam..(not the best quality, but very creative video) |

I don't want to sound hard-hearted or callous about Cory's passing. It is tragic. It is very difficult for the cast and crew of the show at this time. People grieve in different ways, in different times. But, business is business, particularly show business. "The show must go on" is an enduring motto for performers. I cannot imagine the premiere of the show being pushed back for this, unless it was decided that the viewing audience wanted that period of mourning.
Think about it. At your workplace have you ever had a co-worker/friend suddenly and unexpectedly die? You would get leave time to go to the memorial service/funeral. You might get permission to take off early when you heard the news. If you were very close to that person, you might take a day off to grieve. But, at least in my experience, even the death of a member of one's immediate family does not prompt the boss to give the grieving person a month or two off. Perhaps a week. It may sound crass and cheap, but life goes on, and business goes on.
Add to this that Glee has multiple story lines, and a full-time writing staff, and I predict they will get back to work and be ready to premiere on schedule. There is nothing heartless about that.

Ditto. And it has nothing to do with Adam's involvement with the show. "Glee" has a lot of young fans and delaying the season for a month (or two) will cast a pall over the whole season. They won't be able to move on.

I found a little article about Adam leaving RCA in the videotext of our German TV music channel VIVA and translated it!   Adam Lambert leaves label Singer Adam Lambert chose artistic freedom instead of money. In an interview the US-casting-star told that he quit his collaboration with his record company because they had no interest in his own new material. Instead they wanted him to make an album full of coverversions of songs of the 80’s. Adam said that although he is a big fan of the music of this decade, he couldn’t reconcile it with his artistic conscience. |

A bold claim, yes, but I don't think anyone would argue that this cover for the March/April issue is anything less than 100% Fierce and by all accounts the fanzine is indeed free to read online. So no wrongdoings to report here today. I almost feel bad for the guys n gals behind this for not charging. I don't think I have ever seen a better Adam Lambert Cover to be honest.
