I don't want to sound hard-hearted or callous about Cory's passing. It is tragic. It is very difficult for the cast and crew of the show at this time. People grieve in different ways, in different times. But, business is business, particularly show business. "The show must go on" is an enduring motto for performers. I cannot imagine the premiere of the show being pushed back for this, unless it was decided that the viewing audience wanted that period of mourning. Think about it. At your workplace have you ever had a co-worker/friend suddenly and unexpectedly die? You would get leave time to go to the memorial service/funeral. You might get permission to take off early when you heard the news. If you were very close to that person, you might take a day off to grieve. But, at least in my experience, even the death of a member of one's immediate family does not prompt the boss to give the grieving person a month or two off. Perhaps a week. It may sound crass and cheap, but life goes on, and business goes on. Add to this that Glee has multiple story lines, and a full-time writing staff, and I predict they will get back to work and be ready to premiere on schedule. There is nothing heartless about that. I don't think you sound callous at all, Cassie.. it is true that business must resume. The writers may have to scramble if they want some kind of memoriam theme or a show dedicated to Cory, but as you said, Glee has multiple story lines. I wasn't sure what Glee was going to do and evidentally the press is all over the map as well. Great post..thank you!

Thanks for all the pretty welcomes! I've basically been in the Adam fandom since the start, mostly on LJ in a few private comms. His talent and overall fabulousness helped my best friend through the worst months following her husband's death, and he has inspired me in so many ways. It's been thrilling knowing he exists and breathes on this planet. LOL! My friend and I were at the San Diego Idol tour concert, both Fantasy Springs concerts, both Costa Mesa concerts, the two final LA GNT concerts at the Music Box and Club Nokia, and finally Del Mar. We are grieving over the fact that we probably won't be going to Vegas to see Queenbert. Too much money! But we entered our info on the Macy's contest...so... Anyway, here I am.

Todrick Hall has another video going viral (close to 300,000 views in 2 days), this time with Pentatonix and the Wizard of Ahhhs. We talked about 2 weeks ago how he is really finding his niche. I keep thinking Adam should do something like this and then I look more and much of the appeal is because it is covers and the fun of identifying each song. It would be a great skit idea (cover video) for something like SNL if we could ever get him hosting on it. But then also it might be something they would do on Glee.

Let me echo the HI *waves* to our new members squidbert, andi4sure, PineappleOphelia and franki13!
Yes, Please let us know how you found Adam and/or became a fan.
Cassie, I agree with what you say. I have experienced that very thing. Our real estate office - close friends, a married couple, worked there with me and our office had a breakfast meeting that morning and we agents went on tour. FG stayed at the office to get some work done. When we (and his wife) returned he had passed - heart attack. Another friend was in the office across from him at the time it happened, but it was too late.
The point, his wife did take a few days off. But the office kept going. I actually think being together to weep, hug and share great stories about the person was the best medicine. It was hard, but yes, the show must go on...
As I said in a post the other day, (and to tie to Adam) I think he will make an excellent shoulder to lean on. He is so hug-able, and seems to know just the right thing to say. And since he is new, he can help people to move on since his grieving will not be as acute. I don't think the show will be delayed - or I will be surprised if it is.

This is so true. Businesses can't come to a halt when someone dies. When my husband died, I was back in my classroom in a week. It was the best thing for me. I was so busy with a class full of 7 year olds that it really helped me handle my sadness. Having the emotional support of my colleagues was wonderful. I also want to welcome our new members.
