I like this one too.. though I also love his performance from the other 2 nights where he created a more dramatic performance. HOWEVER, this one's the first night London got a taste of Adam's .. listen to the crowd reaction in between and at the end.. never failed to give me goose bump This is really a wonderful video. It would be such a gift if someone would meld it with a good audio. I haven't found vid for WWTLF London 1 that has merged the better videos with better sound. However, this one is very good: Queen and Adam Lambert WWLF Hammersmith 11/07 by mia177mia www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ts9RyUy-p0

Phillip Phillips could tour alone, and he has done plenty of solo gigs. But, he is a perfect fit with Mayer, and John Mayer will have HUGE crowds. I think his team made a really smart decision.
PP has truly broken out of the bubble. I would love it if Adam ends up on his label (or any division of Interscope, really)

BTW About the scan from 'Seiska' that is on the first page. Maybe you all know it already, but it is a Finnish weekly magazine (comes out on fridays, the same that Sauli is doing his video blogs for). I assume the scan is from the latest issue, July 18, 2013. A quick translation: I will be a tv star... againSinger Adam Lambert, known from American Idol contest, will break new ground and gets to test his talent in acting. Presenter Sauli Koskinen's ex-boyfriend will join Glee's fifth season as an actor. -'I'm excited to inform that super talented Adam Lambert will join Glee cast this fall', was tweeted by the producer of the series, Ryan Murphy last week. It didn't take long for Adam to reply -'I'm so excited!! ' Thank you for the translation Belle

I was surprised to hear that Ed Sherran (who has a couple huge hits) is opening for Taylor Swift. I saw him on one of the morning "news" shows last week as he performed in a mini-concert outside. The hosts said it was a HUGE crowd. Yet he is not touring on his own. I think it all has to do with the fan group! LOL Even though they have big hits they may not have the experience to handle a huge crowd. Not everyone has the stage experience and ability to entertain like Adam.

Success in the music business is so much easier for the WGWG types. Especially those that get a big label push and have the good fortune to have two really catchy first singles (I'm not a fan of P2's music but even I think both his songs are really good). Other WGWG from Idol such as Cook & KA have not had the label push or the singles' quality of P2 imo. I'm out of the loop of pop music so I'm asking - is he the draw or the songs? I never really hear or read anything about him as a performer.
Adam is controversial. He would be polarizing even if he weren't gay. It's an uphill battle for him with radio - and that's putting it mildly. Once he climbs that hill I'm sure he will be around for a long time. Longevity vs Flash in the Pan.
And bring on the critiques of what I said - Just my opinion because I know nothing.

The choice to headline or to tour with another artist is effected by a lot of factors include the artist's maturity as a performer, genre, and venue availability.
There is a difference between touring as an opening act or touting as a featured act or co-touring. "John Mayer with Phillip Phillips" looks like a featured artist to me. Not an opening act.
Finally, a few artists -- Adam is one -- do not have natural touring partners. Daugherty goes went with Nickelback. Adam goes with ????

I think a lot of people don't actually know who P2 is, but like the Mumford and Sons sound.

Really I mean if not for the song,Or Call Me Maybe Or In Adam's case.. Voice +song WWFM. It's almost like the songs make the artist, not the other way around. If the best singers don't have a great song.. Oh well.. IMHO of course

Let me just add one comment to my post above - the obvious one that Adam being gay doesn't help him with ultra-conservative US radio. We all know that & no need to discuss further -just thought this belonged as part of my post.
