Am I crazy -- didn't Ryan say they had a great panel of judges indicating the decision was already made? They have to have an African American and a Latina/Latino. What Ryan said: I think, based on what I have heard. The audience that watches American Idol is going to be very excited about the panel that we’ve put together for this Season 13. Its a very special season. And I think you’ll see some good chemistry this year. (I think the interesting comment here is "It's a very special season.") Why? 
If I'm dissecting what Ryan said -- yes, the judges are selected... but it is Hollywood so you never know.  Interesting that Shirley is floating this story. I can't say for certain because I don't follow her much, but she does seem to have decent nuggets of info fairly consistently... doesn't she? Or does she often do the regurgitated rumor? And also interesting that there really have been no sustainable rumors/leaks on the juding panel for this season. What does that say? Very different than last season where anyone and everyone was mentioned as a possible judge at least once! |

... and as long as I'm posting...  My two-cents on the judging panel. I think Idol needs a jolt. It won't matter two hoots who the judges are. Big name, little names, no names -- unless they do SOMETHING new. I don't know what that is, but pay me a couple million to produce the show and I'll try really hard to figure it out. Maybe that SOMETHING is alumni judges, maybe it's some new novelty like the Voice chairs (only not quite) maybe it's some other production aspect of the show.... but it NEEDS buzz, excitement, freshness... not just another ho-hum panel of judges. And for the record, I do not think Adam would be a "ho-hum" judge.  |

There's going to be no JLo or Will. I. Am. on the panel---they are both old news. But, Idol is using Shirley to start amping up the buzz for an announcement next week. The panel is set (I believe Ryan) and it sounds like new blood.
Also, they don't have to have both an African American and a Latino on the panel; but, they need one. And I guessing it will be an R&B singer.

Is there a yawning smiley? I'll need a BIG one if JHud, Will.I.Am or JLo are on the panel (esp JHud). ENOUGH ALREADY. NOT how to reinvigorate the show and get people interested again.
They can't be that stupid, can they?

I believe I heard that the new producers worked with Adam on VH1 Divas and surely they can see the difference between boring and exciting!!?

And she is naming all these names that sound totally non-imaginative .... It sounds to me that they are seriously after JLo (which is STUPID beyond belief IMO) and they need an African American person or two, so unfortunately WillIAM sounds very, very realistic. I can't see two white males on the panel, so Keith staying is bad news for Adam. What ethnicity is Dr. L? He is a producer, so that's a big feather in his hat I suppose even if he is white... The fact that she did leave Adam's name in a encouraging and the whole DREW clew with one painted nail is really intriguing... Having said all that, if Adam does not get the spot I will be celebrating for many reasons |

HELLO SORRY FOR BEING ABSENT.......AND ITS STILL QUIET I SEE BUT IT WOULD BE FANTASTIC IF ADAM WAS NAMED A JUDGE AND IF WILL I AM IS PICKED... JUST NO HE USES AUTO TUNE HE WOULDNT KNOW ABOUT REAL SINGING AND SAULI HAS A GF? HE HAS A INSTAGRAM PIC OF HIM IN A COLLAGE KISSING A GIRL AND SOMEONE SAID THAT ADAM WAS IN THE BACKGROUND OF ONE OF THE PICS ITS HARD TO TELL...
