Thanks Q3 -- maybe he's going indie??? I like to think that the pic of him sticking his tongue out on July 3 was directed at RCA. Hah!

I agree that it would be a mistake to even consider the Freddie bio. Whoever ends up doing it will be under heavy fire, I fear. I wonderr if it will ever get made. :|

A film that has no suitable person to play a role? Maybe it should not be made to begin with. People cannot agree in concept what this film should depict, what the objective of the film is supposed to be, who should portrait the character(s) and who should sing those parts that are not just recorded material.
This film has never made much sense to me, independent from Adam discussion and I sure hope he does not get roped in, because he would harness nothing but critique, even if he did a good job, because the job would be all wrong and there is no way to get it right.
The fact that SBC left that project/was let go of this project because of conceptional differences, not because he was necessarily wrong for whatever part they could come up with, tells you that this is primarily about what this film should actually be, rather than who should play Freddie. I don't think it should be made at all. There are multiple excellent documentaries out there. They do Freddie more justice than any film portrait can do at this point.
Perhaps one day, many years down the road, it makes sense to do a film that then has meaning in its time, right now, I just don't see it making any sense.

But I feel it is good Adam's name is mentioned in all these speculative articles. The timing of the movie (if it ever comes to fruition) would be important too: say IF the filming starts well after 1) A3 is out 2) A3 is a huge success 3) Adam's acting on GLEE is top notch
THEN this role might make sense.... otherwise it is a loosing proposition IMO for all the reasons others have outlined... But frankly, I would much rather see Johnny Depp with Freddie's voice.

I thought at first that the band must be involved in whatever the secrets are because they are part of the IG. But I am thinking now that he asked them to help him do the clues, and that they probably had a great time putting it together. I agree, but writing "we" still doesn't fit. I think it would have been worded differently. I do think there could be hints pertaining to several different things within the clip. I'd like to see him in a Judd Apatow film, myself. Apatow let's his actors improv a LOT and Adam's comic timing would be great (plus I just like Apatow's films)

I think he is perfect for the role (and hopefully they will just dub in Freddie's voice) I was pleased to here him drop out because SBC just seemed all wrong to me. Yes, he looks a bit like Freddie but I really did not see the fit. Joaquine Phoenix did not look like Johnny Cash but was brilliant at playing him in "Ring of Fire". Beyonce is much prettier than Etta James but she pulled that off pretty well. But JLo (who can act) was not so good as Selena even though she really looked like her because she just is not as electric on stage. I agree -- no one will win by playing Freddie but best in the hands of an actor vs. a singer. Johnny Depp might be a good choice. ** On Adam's label -- I expect him to be signed to an independently managed part of UMG (Universal Music Group). If not that, then it will be an independent label with a global distribution deal -- and that probably means a label with a deal with either UMG or Sony ME.

It's been my feeling all along, he is not joining, they (whoever all the participants are) are creating one new label that is a blend of multiple moving parts coming together. I do see it ultimately hanging underneath the UMG umbrella though. Adam will be then signed by that label. The question is how much he has to do with bringing this about. And depending on the hour of the day, the position of the sun and my tea leaf reading for the day, this varies between nothing at all and he is a major part in bringing the right people together, as in introducing them, and he has a vision, but ultimately others are running with the show. Have no idea how big this thing is going to be, of course. Wonder whether they have enough biz people lined up to get this working right? But if existing start-up labels merge into this new one, then this may have legs. We'll see - as you call it: Mashed Potatoes.

I think the "we" is referring to the date that Adam and the band DREW, and not meaningful.
My theory is that something good was finalized that weekend and that video was to memorialize the event.
I think it had to do with Adam, not the touring band. They just helped with the video.
I think it must be bigger than GLEE because the clue is more elaborate.
And I think it is something Adam is not allowed to talk about.
>> Add in the number 4 and Apple and the timing and I keep coming back to IDOL.
>> And then I say to myself, I will not fall into the IDOL rabbit hole again. I am keeping an open mind and will not be disappointed if they pick someone else.
ETA: Regarding Adam and his new label -- this had to be set in motion ages ago. And was complicated. Adam would be heavily involved but DMG would be responsible for bringing people together and leading the negotiations on Adam's behalf.
