So weird about the judge choices. Nothing "current" if you ask me. No AI alumni either. So much for that scenario. I actually thought they might go there as everyone was talking about a "big change". All three picks have been in the business and they know the ropes. Maybe it will be about the contestants. I haven't watched since Adam so am happy that I'm not going to become even more obsessed with seeing Adam. I mean how many times would I have watched and rewatched each AI episode if he had been judging. It's scary to think about. eta: I recently saw a perfume ad featuring JLo in a teen magazine. She looked so out of place compared to the other ads featuring people more in the magazine's target audience. Not dissing her successful career, I commend her for diversifying, etc. eta: went to Brian's kickstarter page. I don't understand what he is trying to do. The first sentence of the project scope reads, "I'm working on creating music videos in order to create video content." What does that mean on an industry level? Anyone know? These days record labels don't even look at artists unless they have a fan base of some sort. For instance Claude Kelly's protege, Masha does lots of youtube cover songs trying to build a fan base on youtube. The videos Brian describes are of live performance of two of their original songs. They can then use this as a starting point to build an audience and also as he said to show to venue managers to get performance slots. Granted they are talking about small venues but when trying to get a slot having a professionally done video of actual live performance will help in the pitch. They are probably looking to get showcase gigs to develop interest in an album. |

You guys have already said everything !!! The old Idol executives had their heads deep up their asses , and now the "new" execs have NO HEADS AT ALL !!
At least the old ones had heads . Even though up their asses , but hey , it's better than nothing .
Let's just wait and see and hope the Glee executives have BIG HEAD and BIG BRAINS and thet KNOW WHERE TO PUT ADAM , AND HOW , AND HOW TO KEEP GLAMBERTS AND GLEEKS HAPPY .
PREACH IT, GURL!! Really think either the old or new execs at Idol had heads? Asses, yes, but heads? I think you give too much credit where none is due..  |

Hudson that led them to look at other options, in so many wordsIf that's their reason to get pretty face like JLo compare to smart / quick wit alumnus like Adam & JHud, then I hope Adam will get better role in Glee. And then press will talk about him and Glee more than they're talking about JLo and Idol  |

Alright.. will.i.am and JLo are like two DIVAs or going to be like Mariah Carey and Nikki M. They're going to compete with each other to get more camera attention. LOL |

When Adam's/Nile's song is up there as a single then I'll celebrate. We know Avicii is popular. From my limited observation (of my DD+friends) the EDM listening crowd probably doesn't even know whose vocals are on the record, they mostly care about the DJ... |

Well, I am hoping that the comment about scheduling conflicts means that ADAM TURNED DOWN IDOL. Because he HAD BETTER THINGS TO DO. Things that we will like more, and will advance his career in exciting new ways. I'm choosing to see it as a win for Adam and Glamberts. (And a wise decision on Adam's part to politely say "no" to being on the Titanic as it slips into the frigid ocean.)

And now I have this horrible thought that this entire IDOL thing will happen again next year - just bleahhhhhhhh  I know right?! They will use Adam's name again. We know he wanted to be the judge on Idol, but last month in one of the interview he didn't really want to answer the question regarding Idol, he just said.. still the same few times. Something changes .. so maybe he's not interested anymore. .. or maybe coz he got that offer from Glee. |

OK, I have been lurking in the background for a while and want to delurke to comment.
I too was in angst about AI and would be happy to see Adam on my TV each week, But this morning DH and I were talking about Adam. He said when driving in a northern state for vacay with friend over the weekend he heard a commercial for winning tickets and they said Adam Lambert and rare appearance by Queen. Soooooo, that opened a door for me to talk about Adam.
I mentioned to him about the AI Judge possibility and he said "Why would you want him to be on a show that is declining. That wouldn't be a very good thing to be involved with....."
He is the average "Joe" kind of guy so I found that comment VERY interesting and actually spent the morning sort of hoping he wouldn't get the judge position.
So now that we know the outcome I am not too sad. Sure if Adam wanted it, and sure I would like any opportunity so see him on the TV, BUT I just Feel the breeze taking him to higher ground and this outcome does not bother me in the least.
Actually, I am relieved to finally know the answer. And to know I don't have to watch. But then again I have not watched since the first few seasons. Not even Adam's season - except the finale that year (last half that had Adam on) and after the fact watched his segments.
So, looking forward now with no angst at ALL:-) Whew, feel like a weight has been lifted.
