They totally botched Posner. His 2010 mess is famous among RCA haters. They have pretty much botched KE$HA too. If not for her 1st single, she'd be having a tough time. Just saw the other day, her album( released end of 2012) is just shy of 300K. She was one of their top stars in 2010. OFC, Dr Luke, IMO, is to blame for album #2s slow sales. She wanted to go more Pop/Rock, ala PINK but Luke made it just like album #1. She even delayed it and issued a statement about it but what she wanted, never happened. IDK, but RCA just seems to be a bigger mess than I even imagined! Would pay money ( a book) to know the Adam/RCA true story and how far back in the Trespassing process the discord goes!

I know zip, but I would guess waaay back. At least to when they delayed the album release to do NCOE. I think the BTIKM release may have been to head off the issues with the "other" album (can't even remember its name at the moment), so won't judge. But... looking forward, not back.

I have a great idea. How about if RCA hires Nigel and the current producers of Idol who are sure to follow in Nigel's footsteps. Then they would have a dream team for screwing up the careers of artists and sabotaging themselves.

Well, because I figured the name was known. Tate Stevens country guy. Rumor started because he is off their web site. I guess his album came out in May and sold 16K plus. I guess not a good showing. Now what is even more interesting is Robin Thicke's album sold 177K opening week. He had the No. 1 summer song "Blurred Lines", until he was displaced by Avicci. So numbers are not good all around. Blurred Lines (album) has sold over 300,000 US and about 100,000+ in the rest of the world since the release in mid-July. And with Blurred Lines still in the Top 10 in most markets [#1 in the US] and the next single, Give It 2 U, moving up the charts and assured of airplay, Robin Thicke is in really good shape. The summer, for better or worse, belongs to Blurred Lines. The contender for summer song was Daft Punk "Get Lucky". Billboard: Blurred Lines is still #1 -- Avicii WMU is #15 and headed up but unlikely to be #1 in the US -- www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100?page=1 UP Pop Radio: #1 Blurred Lines #27 Avicii WMU WMU is still heading up in the US -- vs. Europe where it has peaked. So far the two biggest markets for WMU are the UK and Germany....US will pass both in WMU sales soon. WMU is now at #2 in the UK, peaked at #1. WMU spent 5 weeks at #1 in Germany. WMU Certifications Australia (ARIA) Platinum 70,000 Belgium (BEA) Gold 15,000 Denmark (IFPI Denmark) Platinum 30,000 Germany (BVMI) Gold 150,000 New Zealand (RIANZ) Platinum 15,000 Sweden (GLF)[63] Platinum 120,000x Blurred Lines Certifications Region Certification Sales/shipments Australia (ARIA) 6× Platinum 420,000^ Austria (IFPI Austria) Gold 15,000x Belgium (BEA) Platinum 30,000* Canada (Music Canada) 6× Platinum 480,000^ Denmark (IFPI Denmark) Platinum 30,000^ Germany (BVMI) 3× Gold 450,000^ Italy (FIMI) 2× Platinum 60,000* Mexico (AMPROFON) Platinum 60,000^ New Zealand (RIANZ) 4× Platinum 60,000* Switzerland (IFPI Switzerland) Platinum 30,000x United States (RIAA) 4× Platinum 4,614,000[4]

But I bet that there are multiple "truths" depending on where people stand. There is some great, fitting expression -- something like, "Success has a thousand mothers." ETA: "Victory has a thousand fathers, but defeat is an orphan." I am certain that everyone at RCA was responsible for picking WWFM and no one will own up to the lame shit they did. Oh, like the single release during the holiday freeze. I think it is a real simple story -- SME is being run by accountants and they know nothing about music. They hired "experts" like Dr. Luke to make the product commercial. Once the numbers are bad enough, they will bring back in some pro music people to run it.

Hi! After lurking here (too many times a day)for a couple of years, I've decided to go ahead and register... I discovered Adam during the Idol auditions. Missed seeing the Hollywood rounds, then caught up again during the shows. Saw him in Puyallup during GNT. Probably won't post much because my DH does NOT approve of my "obsession." (I'm really jealous of those of you whose significant others participate in your Adam activities with you!) Anyhow, I'm happy to have a place to come to to check up on Adam news!
