YW Kamar! Carina @_ninni Check out "HD: 2013-08-25 Adam presenting at V*M*A" on Vimeo vimeo.com/73250606 #Vimeo I guess I'm out off it but I don't see a messed up thank you speech or a weird look on Adam'a face. He looked at Emile at one point and they smiled. Don't get what people are saying. I couldn't see anything odd in his expression either. And I was watching for it because I read about it before I saw the clip. Still didn't see it.

So , Glamberts who experienced the live thing , what was your HONEST first reaction ? (We all love Adam here , we are All Glambert , and we are a Glamily . Share your true feelings here , nobody is gonna judge) Honestly? Hated, hated, hated it. Strangely enough, I didn't even NOTICE the crotch grabs or many of the other tidbits in the performance that others took offence to. But (to be cliched), it was pitchy dawg. And I had rarely heard Adam pitchy. (Which then puts a crimper on all the previous performances that night where those of us participating in the live blogs were going "Pshaw, Adam will do WAY better than that!" during multiple earlier sub-par sound issues). But the weirdest, most cringing thing, was that Adam didn't seem to be having any fun. Or caring if the audience had fun. Which came off...badly for those of us who were used to how he handled performances on Idol. Because even after an Idol set where he was serious, or sad, or whatnot - after the music ended - Adam always grinned to show he was in on the act. He was happy and we were happy right along with him. Conversely, Adam was ANGRY at the AMAs. Both during and after he sang. And then he jutted out his jaw and pretty much stated that he didn't care if people liked him or not. Which was 180 degrees off from everything we'd ever experienced. Seeing Adam mad made me mad. But because the performance was (for him) meh, and he didn't seem to care, I found myself getting mad at him, not with him. I had to physically walk away for a while to straighten my head out and figure out if I wanted to figure out what the hell happened. Well, I'm still here and stanning. So I obviously decided to stick around long enough to observe the aftermath.

I just have to add that I absolutely love the song For Your Entertainment. C.R.A.Z.Y. it about it. One of his best.
Thanks for the kind comments about my post : )
Have to agree with Hoppers. It was most painful seeing Adam not happy, and off. He just knew early on and he is such a seasoned performer that he marched on through and planted the flag. But he knew and that was hard to watch.

Yahoo! Music @yahoomusic Miley Cyrus' VMAs performance defended by Adam Lambert: 'Cut Her Some Slack' yhoo.it/17dQEqhBy Tim Kenneally " "W Thicke's mother, Gloria Loring, who criticized Cyrus as " misbegotten." have to wonder how she really meant that word! I suppose she had to stand up for her son but he certainly was complicit.

I don't know if anyone has commented yet on the fact that JLo has practically based her music career in recent years on dueting with Pitbull. Usually these performances have JLo doing in fairly explicit terms what Miley is being criticized for. Here is one example of JLo grinding her behind into Pitbull's crotch. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3W-xa6gqysThe difference, I think, is that JLo's performance was meant to be erotic. Miley, on the other hand, was not trying to be erotic. (The way she was dressed made that clear.) She was just trying to break out of the mold of being a "Disney girl" and have some fun doing so.

Adam put the "double standard" in all our faces during his AMA performance. I think we needed that. I was just sick that he may have dumped his career. Frankly, I lost sleep over it. I was flabbergasted and then sooooo proud that he didn't apologize. He has made me see so many things from a different angle. If people would just watch and listen, they could learn a lot from him. I don't know where he gets his wisdom, maybe he is an old soul, but he has taken me down paths that I have never ventured.
Also, I couldn't believe that he fell and I couldn't believe that he didn't sound like himself. He seemed so wired that night - even whizzing down the red carpet; running late.
I'm getting anxious about it all over again just reading these posts!!
eta: and, I was pissed that the performance pretty much killed FYE as a single. I love that song.

I was very proud of Adam with the way he handled the fall-out from the AMAs. He explained but did not apologize, and he was utterly charming in every interview. Remember his appearance on The View? Even Elisabeth Hasselbeck was enamored of him and defending him. That was the appearance when Joy said he wasn't a typical Jewish boy and he smiled and acknowledged, "My dreidel spins the other way." I think thousands of viewers fell in love with him at that moment. Adam is a master at making lemonade out of lemons.

I've always wondered if he was on something that night that amped everything up.

I had to look closely. If I were his wife he would have a new career as a soprano. I have not seen any comment on this and I have seen the pic, just never looked close. If she had been grabbing him, wow you can bet the farm there would have been an outcry.
