In reference to Adam's tweets regarding Miley, he did express that he did not say whether he liked her performance or not, but to just leave her alone. I think Adam was thinking back to the AMA's when he went thru his dark period, not knowing what the reprocussions would be, and whether or not he had ended his career before it started. He even confessed that he had cried, so there were definitely some dark periods. I think Adam recognizes that Miley's performance left everybody talking, but in not in a good way. He knows what it means to have the wrath descend upon you. So I truly believe he is simply empathizing and providing a shoulder (and by the way his shoulders have become yummy big)to lean on figuratively.

They have not had the VMA review on Fashion Police yet. But surely Joan will not forget Adam -- and his amazing suit and shoes! ETA" AMW - It is even more amazing that Macklemore has been openly critical of hip hop and rap artists for their treatment of women and the unneeded vulgarity in music. AND he also mounted an effort to prove that you can be success and remain an independent and free artist. I would love Adam to get to know him and work with him. I honestly hope that Adam sees the new, alternative path that has been opened up and avoids a major label deal. JMHO YMMV. (In other words, I know that most Adam fans do not agree with me and want him to sign with some part of UMG but I am a "contrarian".) ETA #2: Urgggg just learned that Fashion Police did the VMAs last night and NO ADAM!! JOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAN! I am really disappointed. They pulled that show together in less then one day. George tweeted Adam saying he loved how he looked. My guess is that they will have another wrap up on their regular Friday night show. I hope Adam gets a mention then when they have more time to do different segments. Oh I sure hope so!

Miley had on more covering than Gaga did - Gaga had on two shells and a g-string. Miley had on a flesh colored two piece bathing suit. Why does Gaga get away with her stuff but the hammer falls on Miley. Madonna did some pretty shocking things many years ago and for that matter, Pink did some raunchy stuff onstage as well - Rhianna as well. When you look at Miley's act again, as Adam said, it is pretty funny - and no different than what goes on in dance clubs every night and on television every day. I think it was mostly feigned indignation and something for the media to run with the next day.

New news cycle.. @peoplemag: Adam Lambert defends Miley but parents’ group says… ow.ly/oj58M Adam Lambert Defends Miley Cyrus, but Parents Group Says 'Heads Should Roll' at MTV By TIM NUDD 08/27/2013 at 08:15 AM EDT Miley Cyrus has at least one supporter this week, and he's no stranger to controversy himself. "Listen if it wasn't ur cup of tea – all good but why is everyone spazzing? Hey – she's doin something right. We all talkin," Adam Lambert wrote Monday on Twitter. He stopped short, though, of saying he actually enjoyed the 20-year-old pop star's twerking routine with Robin Thicke. "Hold up!" the former American Idol runner-up later wrote. "I didn't actually state whether or not I liked @mileycyrus performance. I merely said she was having fun and to cut her some slack." Lambert has been there himself, having been criticized for his own racy performance at the 2009 American Music Awards – telling PEOPLE later that he "just got caught up in the moment." One group that isn't cutting MTV any slack is the Parents Television Council, which issued a statement condemning the network for the show's overall racy content. "MTV continues to sexually exploit young women by promoting acts that incorporate 'twerking' in a nude-colored bikini. How is this image of former child star Miley Cyrus appropriate for 14-year-olds?" the statement said in part. The PTC did not criticize Cyrus herself, but advisory board member Paul Porter said "heads should roll at MTV" because of her routine. The PTC's criticism is particularly notable because Cyrus's father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is also an advisory board member for the group. "This much is absolutely clear," the PTC said. "MTV marketed adults-only material to children while falsely manipulating the content rating to make parents think the content was safe for their children."

blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2013/08/27/adam-lambert-defends-miley-cyruss-vma-performance/August 27, 2013, 8:18 AM Adam Lambert Defends Miley Cyrus’s VMA Performance By Lyneka Little Adam Lambert, the former “American Idol” runner-up, is apparently defending Miley Cyrus’s controversial twerking at the MTV Video Music Awards performance. Lambert once found himself at the center of a firestorm following his 2009 American Music Awards performance where he kissed a man and simulated oral sex. A note was posted on his Twitter account reading “@mileycyrus looked like she was having a ton of fun. Y’all need to relax and lighten up. It was meant to be funny. Leave Miley alone!” A follow-up note read “And listen if it wasn’t ur cup of tea— all good but why is everyone spazzing? Hey – she’s doin something right. We all talkin.” Lambert wasn’t done yet. “Hold up! I didn’t actually state whether or not I liked @mileycyrus performance. I merely said she was having fun and to cut her some slack.” Another tweet concluded “Whew folks are all heated bout this. Hilarious. I can’t help it that I’m a contrarian — just another healthy debate.” A representative for Lambert didn’t return a request for comment.

When you think of where Adam has come from - the Zodiac shows, the drag shows, the underground, alternative club scene, etc. what Miley did was nuthin'. Really tame. If anything, I would expect Adam to be more "offended" by some of the singing (or lack thereof) on the show than any of the moves and costumes. Remember, Adam stripped nude at 21 years old in "Hair." The guy has seen and probably been involved with some serious "kink" onstage.
Adam has also experienced his legion of fans writing and tweeting about his glambulge, throwing sex toys at him, screaming at him to take his clothes off, screaming at every sexy body roll he does on stage, tweeting about the sexual things they want to do to/with him... he is very used to being objectified as a sex "toy." So, he would not think it strange or wrong for the gals to do it too. It's part of the business. It's all performance. Adam is all for artistic freedom, no matter whether it fits his personal taste or not.
