Thanks betty!! I loved the skit at the beginning of the show and would even go so far as to say that his performance helped secure the Glee slot. But I know nothing. I am pretty sure that it helped.  I seem to remember Shoshanna tweeting something like she was getting lots of industry feedback to his diva performance, along the lines of 'who knew?' (I should try to look it up but it's 4.45 am here so forgive me....) |

We sometimes lament that Adam has not gotten the opportunities in the entertainment industry that others have, and that he deserves. But, I have to wonder if all these industry people have overlooked his talent, or if, rather, there have been inquiries and offers but Adam has been very selective about what he accepts and what he wants to be involved in.
I would bet that he has been approached about performing on Broadway. And I am not sure that Idol hasn't made an offer at some point. Although Adam said he would jump at the chance, perhaps if/when the offer was made it didn't feel right; insulting salary, a feeling that he was the last choice or the last minute pick, learning that he would need to follow the direction and script of the producers instead of being honest and himself as a judge, a conflict with other projects that were more appealing, recognition that Idol is a sinking ship and not something to be associated with in the coming year, etc. Who knows what other projects have been mentioned that he has chosen to pass on.
Bravo for Adam following the career path that he wants to, even if it doesn't always correspond to what I want/hope. But, Adam, couldn't you just see your way clear to do just a couple of weeks on Broadway, or an HBO special or two featuring your amazing voice, range and genre spanning skills?

Talking about glasses: Just when you think that enough nauseating idol information has come out in a day, between 17.5 million for Mrs. I've got goosies and that whole third judge drama, I have to read that Gokey has nothing better to do with his life than to write his autobiography. Well good for him, and somebody obviously will have to spend a few bucks to tell us, what he is writing about Adam. While I don't think that I am giving much credence to whatever opinion Gokey has, I do admit, that I want to know what he says. Supposed to come out in October. Article is on THR, if there is any strong desire to know more. linkOtherwise, I have given up on idol. I hope the show is run into the ground quickly enough that the expected remaining revenue stream forecast is so low that the idol brand can be sold. I think the moment this show is in new hands, everybody is going to do a combined sigh of relief and there will be belief in its revival again, especially if the new owner presents a clear vision for the show. Presently, the management knows neither who their target audience is, nor what the purpose of the show is, nor what people want or why people are leaving in droves. They are absolutely clueless, and clearly illiterate, because they are ignoring every word of advice they are given. Amazing. Thanks for posting the DIVAs videos again, that was fun to watch. So looking forward to Glee. Listening to Queen albums all day long, whenever I am at my desk, having tons of fun with that. Slowly getting myself ready for iHeart, I suppose. |
