Bendy Adam!!
So what's next for Adam? Time for guesses, predictions, and devining*
8.31.13 by Q3
* di·vine
diˈvīn/
verb
gerund or present participle: divining
1. discover (something) by guesswork or intuition.
"Glamberts usually divined his ulterior motives"
synonyms: guess, surmise, conjecture, deduce, infer;
discern, intuit, perceive, recognize, see, realize, appreciate, understand, grasp, comprehend;
informal figure (out), savvy
"Q3 divined where HE would go next"
Get your bets in: Will Adam head to London to rehearse with Queen? Will he stay in the US and do a quick rehearsal here in the US? When will we find out what the "four friends" recorded earlier this month? Will we ever?
Yes, it's prediction Saturday. And it will take a lot of intuition to figure out what's going on because there is so little to go on.

‘I don’t think those guys want to’:
Adam Lambert nixes idea of a world tour with Queen
From ~ Something Else! Reviews
Adam Lambert says fans shouldn’t expect any large-scale tour to follow his September debut in the U.S. fronting classic-rock legends Queen.
The band hasn’t traveled the world since 2008, when it did so with Paul Rodgers. Brian May and Roger Taylor had earlier mounted a huge tour in 2005-06 with Rodgers, their first since the late Freddie Mercury led Queen in the mid-1980s. There was also a Rodgers + Queen studio project called The Cosmos Rocks, in 2008.
The following year, Queen began what’s turned into a lengthy relationship with Lambert, when May and Taylor took part in the Idol finale. Since then, they’ve made a series of individual stops, but each of them was in Europe.
Lambert is now prepping for a first-ever stateside set with Queen, to be held next month at an iHeart Radio-sponsored event in Vegas.
That’s sparked some speculation that, if successful, Lambert + Queen might consider expanding their commitment into a broader U.S. jaunt — in part, no doubt, because Lambert himself didn’t tour in the states behind his most recent solo album.
Soundcloud interview: tinyurl.com/o8hjwme
Lambert nixes the idea, in this clip with Brett Andrews.
“I don’t think those guys want to do an 80-city tour,” he says. “They already did all that.”
Incidentally, Rodgers was asked about the prospect of Lambert fronting Queen on a lengthy tour — similar to the two he undertook in the last decade — and the former Free/Bad Company singer said he was unsure if Lambert could withstand the intense pressure that would follow. Q3 comment: Paul Rodgers made this comment in April 2012 before Adam has performed with Queen.

Avicii 'True' Review: 'Wake Me Up' DJ Teams Up With
Chic, Adam Lambert For Unique Debut Album
Posted: 30/08/2013 14:42 BST | Updated: 30/08/2013 14:52 BST
Swedish DJ Avicii shocked both his fans and music critics when he first unveiled single 'Wake Me Up' at Miami's Ultra Music Festival.
The collaboration with soul singer Aloe Blacc saw his much-loved party sound shift from traditional electronic dance music to something with a country influence.
However, the song went on to become the fastest selling single of the year so far, beating One Direction to number one in the UK charts and also reaching the top spot in 62 other countries.
Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, was confident about his new sound, announcing at the time on Facebook: “I really wanted to switch things up and do something fun and different. Disruption is good when a [dance music] scene is half stuck… We knew people would be provoked."
And Avicii has stayed true to this ethos almost throughout the whole of his debut album, 'True'.
The Huffington Post UK has heard the album in full and can confirm that 'Wake Me Up' was just the start of a new, diverse and interesting sound from one of the world's biggest DJs.
In the past Avicii has teamed up with powerhouse vocalists such as Leona Lewis, and there are more great vocals on 'True', as well as the sound of the king of disco guitar music - Chic's Nile Rodgers, fresh from his success with Daft Punk.
There are plenty of surefire hit singles on 'True', including 'Addicted To You' with its almost haunted vocals from 71-year-old Mac Davies, who wrote 'In the Ghetto' and 'A Little Less Conversation' for Elvis Presley.

It's just one example of how Avicii has mixed soulful, old fashioned voices with infectious new beats.
'Dear Boy' begins with a more techno sounding intro but moves onto a voice that sounds almost identical to Lana Del Ray's, although we've been assured she's not on the album and it's actually folk artist Audra Mae.
On 'Shame On Me', a male vocal accompanies a strong female voice for a mix of fast jive music that wouldn't be out of place on Baz Luhrmann's 'The Great Gatsby' soundtrack.
For fans of Avicii's former sound, his collaboration with Adam Lambert called 'Lay Me Down' should appease but the guitars still creep in from Nile Rodgers after what starts off as a more traditional dance anthem.
The darker 'Hope There’s Someone', with ethereal vocals, also sounds more progressive.
Avicii's debut album 'True' will no doubt garner a whole new set of fans for the 23-year-old. And it deserves to. It's a novel and unique mix of soul, country, R&B, rock, funk, house and electronica, from a DJ and producer who isn't afraid to take risks.
‘True’ is due to be released on 16 September 2013.

Note: The Idol Judges Roulette Crazy Season is over -- Harry Connick Jr. is third judge.
Why Aren't Jennifer Hudson & Adam Lambert Good Enough for 'American Idol'?
Opinion: The Fox competition strangely has passed over both alums in its drawn-out search, though both have expressed interest in joining the panel
www.thewrap.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/scale_width_640/2013/Aug/30/114391/main_image/idolnews.jpg
's widely known that Fox's "American Idol" has been in constant flux in the time since Season 12 wrapped. Shrinking ratings has led to all but one judge, Keith Urban, moving on and both founding executive producers fired and replaced.
And as one after another artist turns down the gig (Kelly Clarkson, Will.I.Am, Dr. Luke, etc.), it begs the question of why it has decided to pass over alums Jennifer Hudson and Adam Lambert -- both having expressed a desire to join the show.
When the producers were hot on the idea of an all-alum panel, Hudson came on, struck a deal and then waited as the series weighed its options. While it chased its inaugural winner Clarkson -- who was firm in her desire not to join the panel -- Lambert also made it clear that he was game.
And, yet, producers decided that an all-alum panel wouldn't work without Clarkson and ditched the idea all together. Even as Hudson waited in the wings, they went back to their safe place and started negotiating with former judge Jennifer Lopez. Urban was called back, and now they're having a tough time filling the third spot.
Even without an all-alumni panel in the works, Hudson and Lambert would make excellent choices for judges. Not only would they remind the show's viewers of its ability to make stars even if one doesn't win -- star-making is the biggest thing that separates "Idol" from its competitors currently -- but they both also have careers that would stand up against most artists in the industry today. Note: The thunderous welcome both received during their appearances on last Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.
Hudson has won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a SAG Award and a Grammy. With two albums under her belt, she has sold more than 1.2 million albums in the U.S. alone. And she appeals to black audiences -- something "Idol" wanted with Minaj and reportedly still wants on its upcoming panel.
Lambert parlayed his runner-up status on the show's eighth season into a Top 10 album and Grammy award nomination. He is also the only "Idol" alum to undertake a world tour in the year following their season. He has two successful albums behind him. And let us not forget his army of fans, lovingly dubbed "Glamberts." They're an attractive set of young people for advertisers.
We can think of a few reasons why "Idol" would decide not to bring on either performer for Season 13. First, it got cold feet about reinventing itself. As you can see, it's bringing back two former judges and is even in reported talks to bring Randy Jackson back to replace Jimmy Iovine as mentor.
Second, it's afraid of fan backlash. Not so much for Hudson, but for Lambert. "Idol" has been accused of being an unwelcome environment for gay contenders -- most choosing to stay closeted while competing, Lambert included. With its ratings troubles, is it afraid to turn off Middle America with an openly gay judge?
And third, it doesn't know what it wants. With a lot of pressure from the network to turn the show's ratings losses around and an all new set of executive producers who would love to keep their jobs beyond next season, the show doesn't know what it wants for its final judges' seat. Does it want performers like Will.I.Am or Harry Connick, Jr.? Or music producers/executives like Dr. Luke or Scooter Braun?
Hmm, maybe they should focus on someone who would say yes.
In the end, it remains to be seen if judges even matter at all at this point. The show's decreasing viewership has been a tide it couldn't turn around for several seasons now -- even with certified superstars like Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.
Nevertheless, Hudson and Lambert could have been great (and willing) additions to the Season 13 panel, but it looks like we will never know for sure. "Idol's" loss.

NOTE: We know that Harry Connick, Jr. will be the third judge on Idol Season 13 www.hollywoodreporter.com/idol-worship/harry-connick-jr-lands-third-618414 but since this was in Rolling Stone, I wanted to post it on page 1. Q3
Who Should Be the Final 'American Idol' Judge?
Lil Jon, Kelly Clarkson, Ozzy Osbourne and four more suggestions for the head table
By Katy Kroll
August 29, 2013 5:10 PM ET
Now that Dr. Luke has dropped out of American Idol, there's a vacant seat at the judges' table that's threatening to delay the upcoming 13th season of the popular singing competition. Keith Urban has already signed on again (snooze), and Jennifer Lopez is returning after a one-year hiatus (slightly better, but not much), with Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson officially becoming reality show roadkill. As producers scramble to find someone to fill the open slot before auditions begin next week, we're here to offer a few suggestions.
[Q3: I cut out the reasons for the other people on their list.]
Simon Cowell
Antonio "L.A." Reid
Adam Lambert
Lambert's name has been kicking around for a couple of seasons now as a potential judge, and we're not quite sure why it hasn't happened yet. What better way to give the panel a shot in the arm than with someone who's experienced the competition from the other side? Think of the insight we'd get, not to mention the potential takeaways for contestants. Plus, he brings both pop and dance credibility to the table, and a youthful edge the panel sorely needs.
Kelly Clarkson
Lil Jon
Ryan Tedder
Ozzy Osbourne

Apple’s Late Entry to Music Streaming Could Still Outplay the Field
By Aaron Pressman | The Exchange 8.30.13
The streaming music business is bracing for the entry of a brand-new player — but one that may become an instant giant.
Apple (AAPL) is set to unveil its iTunes Radio service in the United States next month, backed by all its marketing muscle, a decade of experience selling downloadable music and 575 million paying customers.
The long-anticipated move comes just as top streaming services such as Pandora (P), Spotify and Songza appear to have started making a serious dent in sales of digital songs for download, where Apple’s iTunes store is the dominant player.
Overall music sales of albums and singles were down 4.6% in the first half of this year compared to 2012, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That included a 2.3% drop in sales of digital singles. Sales of digital albums rose 6.3%.
Apple has been able to avoid offering a streaming or subscription service until now, thanks to robust download sales. But, as that business peaks, Apple finally has plans to enter the crowded field of streaming players.
No fear from Pandora
Current online music players say they’re not afraid. Pandora CEO Joe Kennedy has dismissed the looming Apple threat. “We’ve seen competitors large and small enter the market and, in some cases, exit the market,” Kennedy told the AllThingsD blog. “I’ve never seen an analysis that identifies an effect from any competitor … we don’t see the picture changing.”
Other competitors have noted that customers tend to use multiple services and that the arrival of a new, highly publicized player could broaden the market for all.
Like Pandora, iTunes Radio won’t let customers choose to play specific songs – that’s the realm of more-expensive services that work on your phone, such as Spotify's premium offering and Google’s (GOOG) Play Music All Access.
Apple’s service will be free with occasional advertisements, though subscribers to its $25 per year iTunes Match feature will get an ad-free version. That’s similar to Pandora, which has 71 million active listeners per month and charges $36 a year for ad removal. Both rates are much less than the services that give users total control over music selection on their phones, such as Google, which charges $10 a month.
The music-matching model
Instead of choosing specific songs, users of iTunes Radio will be able to select a music genre or favorite artist and hear a stream of songs selected to match the choice. A Bruce Springsteen station might mix songs by the Boss along with artists such as Bob Seger or John Cafferty. Listeners can rate each song, helping the services provide ever-more-personalized streams.
That’s still more control than Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio service, which beams users live playlists from the company’s 800 radio stations and others.
Apple’s iTune store already offers an idea of how its radio service might operate, in the “Listeners Also Bought” section, where it suggests additional purchases. Under Justin Timberlake’s new album, The 20/20 Experience, for example, iTunes suggests tracks by Frank Ocean, Rihanna and Adam Lambert among others.
Pandora supporters say Apple won’t be able to match the current leader’s personalization feature, known as genome. Pandora has human reviewers categorize songs along numerous attributes and uses the data to find songs comparable to ones a customer has already liked.
Apple may be able to spread its service to other parts of the world more rapidly than its competitors, thanks to its direct contracts with the big music publishers. Pandora is currently only available in a few countries outside of the U.S., due to rights issues.
Though iTunes radio will initially only be available in the U.S., analysts expect a roll-out in Europe by the end of the year and other markets in 2014.
So, despite Apple’s late entry to the online streaming game, that could make the newcomer into a global giant.

Slightly OT News…..
8.31.13 by Q3
Every now and then, someone says something that is so correct and so spot on that I put it on page 1 of our Daily News. This comment by Cory Booker is one of those expressions. If you do not follow New Jersey politics, you may not be familiar with the situation. Cory Booker who is currently the popular and somewhat controversial mayor of Newark, New Jersey, is running for one of the two US Senate seats from New Jersey.
His conservative Republican rival, Steve Lonegan, accused Booker of "acting ambiguous" in an effort to attract gay votes. This appears to be a last minute attempt by Lonegan to jumpstart his failing campaign. The election is in October and the most recent poll in the race from Fairleigh Dickinson University shows Booker with a commanding lead of 28 points, 50 percent to Lonegan's 22 percent.
According to ABC News....
Lonegan, who is known for his blunt style, seemed to raise old rumors that Booker might be gay and told the conservative Newsmax TV that recent Booker comments where he said he doesn't care if people do think he is gay because "I want to challenge people on their homophobia" were "weird."
"As a guy, I personally like being a guy," Lonegan said.
"I don't know if you saw the stories last year. They've been out for quite a bit about how he likes to go out at three o'clock in the morning for a manicure and a pedicure," Lonegan said referring to an interview Booker gave to the magazine DuJour last summer where he said an ex-girlfriend "turned me on to mani-pedis."
"It was described as his peculiar fetish," Lonegan continued in his NewsMax interview. "I have a more peculiar fetish. I like a good Scotch and a cigar. That's my fetish, but we'll just compare the two."
When asked directly if he thought Booker was gay, Lonegan answered that he did not know, but "maybe that helps to get him the gay vote by acting ambiguous."

“First of all, this is the ridiculousness of this point. The question should not be whether you’re gay or straight, but the question should be, why are you asking the question in the first place?…The point I’m getting the chance to make right now — and I really, really want to drive this home — is that we need to stop in America talking about anybody in a public realm, besides what is important: the content of their character, the quality of their ideas, the courage within their hearts to serve others. Here we have an opponent trying to say god awful things, literally saying, I believe a guy should be a guy. Almost like saying you are not a man if you’re gay. That is so extreme. Let’s shine lights on this for a second and understand that my father taught me what manhood is about. And it’s not about whether you play football or enjoyed badminton. Being a man is about love. About kindness to others. About standing up for what’s right, about doing what’s important to do in the unfinished business of America.”
