I divine that Adam is following the new trend of binge TV watching and catching up on television that he has missed, specifically 'Orange is the New Black' which I have been meaning to watch but haven't yet. Maybe I will tonight ... what snacks does one stock for binge TV watching? I am so out of the loop.
I divine that Adam is taking refresher acting lessons to get ready for his part on Glee and also catching up on the last season so that he will be familiar with the characters' personalities. Hopefully he has received some guidance and scripts by now.
I divine involvement in 2013 MTV EMAs, probably as host based on Adam's comment about hosting. Will he have a new song to sing? Well, I do divine that he is working on new music.

They wanted something a little different so my "wish" for the third judge would be a guest judge spot. They would stay for the competition night and the elimination night each week. This way perhaps Adam, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson could "guest" judge. They still have Randy so he could join the panel for the selection of the potential contestants as they travel to each city in the beginning. I think having the third judge seat be a "guest" spot would bring a fresh perspective each week and would be an audience draw.  |

Idol would never use it  But how about guest spot with a fourth judge??? What am I thinking a new fourth judge every week would totally throw Idol over the edge ![]() |

I'm seeing lot's of disappointment here in AI regarding the Harry Connick Jr. choice. I'd seen a little clip of him mentoring sometime and he was pretty on point--not wishy washy. So I just spent some time looking on YouTube. He is a very good musician and interpreter of songs (I already knew that). He is also not afraid to actually critique the contestants--like Adam. Although he is not part of the "current" music scene, he is clearly able to offer constructive comments as a judge. Check this out from last season. In another clip he commented about someone's breath support, worked on really understanding the lyrics, etc. I'm not going to write him off as a lame choice as judge. Simon, Paula, and Randy were not all that relevant when they started with the show. Maybe the show is just winding down anyway. Harry is a great guy -- just maybe not what AI needs. But, who knows at this point. He might click with the audience. Harry's work in New Orleans after Katrina is admirable but that has nothing to do with Idol. eta: I really liked the idea of the third judge being a guest spot! |

I need a little time to think about predictions for Adam...I feel very strongly that his career is going to really open up for him from this point on but I don't have any particular prediction for now. As for HCJ on Idol...I'm thrilled! I've watched the show since S2 and have been extremely disappointed in the judges. Since Simon left, they have all been yes men/women for the show caring more for themselves than the contestants and that especially includes JLo. IMO Harry will bring back some of the credability the show has lost. He pulls no punches with the contestants and knows what he's talking about and has the creds to back it up. He will give honest critiques and viewers want that...I want that...and I think he will keep JLo in line. She will no longer be the top dog. I'm also glad Keith Urban is back. He also gave honest critiques but was drowned out by the rest of the judges. HCJ will NOT be drowned out. I think he will keep that standing for every song crap that JLo started and all the judges with went along with, to a minimum. She can be the cheerleader like Paula was and Keith and Harry can be the real judges. Now, hopefully, they can get some good contestants, not the handpicked ones by TPTB. I don't want Adam to be part of this show unless he performs...Bye-bye Idol...Adam is movin' on!! So, I'm just going to sit back and watch the show. ![]() |

Four years ago Idol gave Adam a massive platform for launching his first album. RCA gave him almost no platform for launching his second. My prediction/hope is that DMG and Adam are planning for another launching pad before releasing A3. Something that will make Adam highly visible to a large cross-section of the public. GLEE is certainly part of that plan. I hope there is more: a movie, a guest hosting gig on a major show, some more high profile gigs like Queen and Nile, a book deal, etc. I am not very creative, but hopefully his management is.

In the past, along with Randy, Paula and Simon, Idol had a guest judge for a fourth spot. I liked that - it added another perspective and kept things interesting.
