ETA: Here is the time scenario ---
1. Nile and Avicii are in LA in the studio working on a track -- they finish the first track and start to work on what became LMD. Avicii leaves.
2. Nile works on the track some more. Calls Prince who sends over his backup singers, King to record the back up vocals.
3. 10:00PM Nile has a song and calls Adam to record the lead vocal.
4. Adam is in bed, hung over. Nile tells him to get over to the studio, he needs him. Adam gets on the treadmill for a couple of hours then heads over to the recording studio. He sings the vocal and nails it in one take.
5. Avicii gets the track that Nile has designated as a hit in the morning.
The most important part of the interview is that Nile is right when he says this will be a hit for Adam and that Adam is in the perfect position -- he will have a hit song as an independent artist while his management is negotiating his new contract. Adam has a fairy
godmother godqueen watching over him! On top of that, and thanks to Queen+AL, he will be the only unsigned artist performing at iHR Music Festival.
I have followed the music business for 30 years and I cannot remember another situation like this for an artist who was between contracts. [Off to listen to "Lucky Star" and hope Adam's "Lucky Star" will shine some light on me.

Craazyforadam - Nile's story do not make any sense. And there is no chance that the part we do not know worked out like you laid it out.
Two other parts of your comment struck me....
Craazyforadam "My other question is more targeted at the long term perspective of all this. I know that Nile has golden fingers and Adam needs the exposure on the world market as well as the cash, but Adam is not a session singer. And if Nile sees it as, oh here I need some vocals, let me call Adam, then this will not go well forever. In the end, LMD is a great song, in the sense of exposure, cashflow, etc, but let's face it:"

Avicii and Nile did not treat Adam as a session singer -- he is a featured artist and has composer credit.
Tracklisting -- 8. Lay Me Down [feat. Adam Lambert]
Major pop stars are featured artists all the time. It is more than a way to make money, it is a way to expand your fanbase. Too bad RCA did not do this in 2009 with Adam. Just think of the possibilities if he did the featured vocal on a pop hit or two before he released his first single. [Many fans/people here said it over and over and over online in 2009 and 2010.

Craazyforadam "But it means that Avicii probably feels a bit run over by a truck with what publicity of its own LMD is taking, compared to other songs..."

And the two singles blow everything else away on both because they are being promoted.
The only place LMD is ruling is Adam fan Twitter.
