OT here, I guess I am having a bad day. This morning before school, my 16-year old son, who does not drive yet ( waiting till he matures a little more, he is severely ADHD), decided that I had parked my husband's car too close to the far wall in the garage. So he got into the car, backed up right into the double door garage. Major damage to the garage door, but fortunately not the car.Just had a repair guy here, who told me that it is going to cost a $1000 to repair. Can't tell hubby ( he's away in CA). So I have to take the fall, but now have to figure out an appropriate punishment and repayment plan for my son, and get it fixed before hubby gets back. OMG that stinks... so sorry

But at least the car wasn't damaged too. Sending you

idolator dot com @idolator 6m.@ddlovato and @nayarivera cover The Beatles' "Here Comes The Sun". Hear them harmonize to perfection: idola.to/15CGY6Q(Adam mention) (Did I read this right and Adam might make an appearance on Glee before their hiatus? Probably they mean Adam appearing after their break. IDK?)

I finally got around to listening to Gaga's "Applause" and I think Adam will do wonders for the song. When Gaga started singing, I burst out laughing, because she sounded like Katharine Hepburn.

The Real Paula Abdul @paulaabdul 8m #Inspiration isn't about imitation. It's about being motivated to follow through on your OWN vision and sharing your originality! xoP

RE Shosh"s reply tweet: Oh Glamberts / Glamhoppers, you are funny. Not fretting about rumours anymore then? Funny how we all take things in different contexts....my first reaction of the tweet was ...she is hilarious! Oh there is news in the airwaves ...so I'll fire out a tweet....'cause the Glamberts will be busting out over the LMD track news.GOOD news allows you to MOVE ON .....Today you can be happy for Adam, (There is always something with Adam to keep fandom hopping/communicating .....UP high with the UPS or worry warts over "stuff".) YUP... we sure do! Or at least I sure do! Good thing we have good news pouring in ...makes reading on the site spirit lifting, and scrolling impossible.

Why am I on this board so much this morning? Go away, me. Get some work done. LOL.
My 2 cents on the "drag" reaction -- American vs. European. Very interesting question. I think in general Americans are more moralistic than Europeans. The difference in religiosity is well-known, but even among non-religious people, Americans tend to debate issues on moral/ethical terms.
My thought is that gay rights activists have been very smart to focus on marriage rights. The more that people in America see gays as "people in love who want to be married," the more they have shifted to a support for gay rights that has been rather astonishing in its rapidity. Support and understanding for other things that smack more of sexual license will lag behind.
The other thing is that I think a lot of Americans think of masculinity as something you earn, rather than as something you just have. They can't understand why you would willingly give up something that is so valuable and so hard to earn, ie, drag or a more fluid gender presentation. You can see this attitude among men and women and often in gays too as Adam himself has noted.
That said -- it's easy for me to remember how popular the androgynous pop music acts were in the late 70s and early 80s. My perception is that AIDS slammed the door on that and we are still climbing out of that tragedy.
Just speculating ... happy about everything that is happening for Adam and for us!!
