OT here, I guess I am having a bad day. This morning before school, my 16-year old son, who does not drive yet ( waiting till he matures a little more, he is severely ADHD), decided that I had parked my husband's car too close to the far wall in the garage. So he got into the car, backed up right into the double door garage. Major damage to the garage door, but fortunately not the car.Just had a repair guy here, who told me that it is going to cost a $1000 to repair. Can't tell hubby ( he's away in CA). So I have to take the fall, but now have to figure out an appropriate punishment and repayment plan for my son, and get it fixed before hubby gets back. Awww....in your son's defense, I've done the same damn thing! Haha! Usually open the garage doors as soon as I enter the garage but I was in a rush and distracted. We have fairly large windows in our doors, and when I glanced in my rear view mirror I saw daylight so I proceeded to back out. and yeah, same result. Hope your day gets better!

Why am I on this board so much this morning? Go away, me. Get some work done. LOL. My 2 cents on the "drag" reaction -- American vs. European. Very interesting question. I think in general Americans are more moralistic than Europeans. The difference in religiosity is well-known, but even among non-religious people, Americans tend to debate issues on moral/ethical terms. My thought is that gay rights activists have been very smart to focus on marriage rights. The more that people in America see gays as "people in love who want to be married," the more they have shifted to a support for gay rights that has been rather astonishing in its rapidity. Support and understanding for other things that smack more of sexual license will lag behind. The other thing is that I think a lot of Americans think of masculinity as something you earn, rather than as something you just have. They can't understand why you would willingly give up something that is so valuable and so hard to earn, ie, drag or a more fluid gender presentation. You can see this attitude among men and women and often in gays too as Adam himself has noted. That said -- it's easy for me to remember how popular the androgynous pop music acts were in the late 70s and early 80s. My perception is that AIDS slammed the door on that and we are still climbing out of that tragedy. Just speculating ... happy about everything that is happening for Adam and for us!! My impression is that in Europe, the situation is perhaps similar to the one in the USA. What with the more and more countries joining European Union, the borders become more unclear and the differences among the countries and their cultures tend to refocus from the nationalistic approach to the individual one. So, it varies from person to person, more than from country to country. Of course, there is this notion, probably still true, that the Scandinavian countries, for example, are more liberal than the ones on the Balkans, which is as correct as the notion that East Coast states are more liberal than Middle American states - which is to say, not necessarily, or not always so. By the way, rumour has it that the next country to be accepted into EU is Serbia and I am looking forward to it. I agree with you that moving the fight for human rights of the LGBTQ community to the ground of law has been a major step in the right direction. Especially with the way this fight is open to various religious, moral, ethical and personal interpretations and viewpoints, which makes it a never-ending discussion. Equal rights for everyone - end of discussion. It makes me very happy to see more and more countries doing something about it. I think it all should have happened much, much sooner, but I think it is just a matter of time now for that issue to be regulated everywhere in the civilized world.

To be precise, Avicii said he thinks it will be the NEXT single. Wow. So, LMD is getting a lot of buzz in the UK, eh? Anybody here a little bit excited?
