Holst: I didn't immediately identify Adam as gay either. Theatrical? Definitely. But for me, coming from a strong musical theater background, that is a very good thing. And while there are many gay performers in theater, being theatrical does not equal being gay. Neither does liking dress up more than soccer, or wearing black nail polish and eye liner. I know the stereotype about kids who like to sing and dance and dress up, but the majority of the kids in my theater group growing up were not gay. Just passionate about performing. Just artistic.
However, that magnificent strut down the stairs to open "Feeling Good" was such a drag queen moment I thought he was either gay or at least he was familiar with that culture. I was not into researching Idol contestants on the internet at that point, so I didn't even know about the photos, but when Adam did "come out" I was not surprised, but it was also not a big deal. "Adam Lambert is GAY!" "Um, and?"

Okay, I won't be able to watch for another hour; until 9:30 pm in my time zone. RL stuff to do. I am really hoping FBG is in the last half hour of the show. I will be crushed if I miss that on TV.

I like Bruno Mars as much as the next person, but UGH, I hate his song "Gorilla".
