I'm so sorry you lost your job (that sucks big time),but you will get 18 months of unemployment. Squirrel away some of that money!!!! Thanks, smokeyvera. I'm in this funky period where I cannot yet get apply for unemployment, but when I do, I won't have much to squirrel away because it won't even cover my mortgage payment. :( But where there is a will, there is a way. NYC...here I come.  Sorry to hear about your job situation. I got laid off 12 years ago and ended up having to switch professions. I had a friend who, with good intentions, suggested I take a vacation while I had time off. But that would have be reckless--I had no income except unemployment and needed to be searching for a job, which should be full-time job. It was a horrible time in my life, and I sometimes still cry a bit when I hear of people getting laid off. I hope you are able to find proper employment soon.  |
