aleks... omg thank you for this!!!  I never saw the little blue "link" in your post, but now I've read your essay and I love every word of it!

I love this paragraph:

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but there is a really interesting article about Dr. Luke in the October 14, 2013 issue of "The New Yorker." It discusses the hit-making process for Britney, Katy, Miley, Kesha, etc. The article was written around the time that Bonnie McKee (who works with Dr. Luke) was releasing "American Girl" and Adam gets a mention!

"The track had appeared on YouTube only a day earlier. Once a song is ready for the world, Gottwald often favours this kind of low-profile introduction, eschewing hard release dates for "soft" launches, sometimes leaking songs on YouTube and hoping they go viral. "I just put all these things out there," he says, "and if somethings catches we focus our efforts around that." His basic strategy is to have no basic strategy. Given the state of disarray in the music business, that might be a good plan.

Perry, Kesha, Taio Cruz, and Adam Lambert, among others, appear in the video -- Dr. Luke called in a lot of favours -- lip-synching to McKee's voice, a clever inversion of the usual arrangement, in which she helps them with the words."

Then it goes on to talk about views and who tweeted it. Anyhow, I love the fact that Adam's name is in "The New Yorker" and if you search Adam Lambert in their website, the link for this article comes up. He was last mentioned in 2010. Of course, my big wish is that "The New Yorker" dedicates a whole article to Adam, but they always seem to write about obscure, not mainstream, artists! Maybe one day -- a girl can hope!

I managed to tear myself away from MTN to watch this interview, and noticed that the on screen title they use to describe Adam is 'singer - songwriter' (around 0.23). That's a first (at least for me, but I still haven't seen everything - yet).
