My immediate family has 8 members, I'm a number cruncher but have a strong intuitive/spiritual side (Tarot, Karl Jung buff, per-cognitive dreams etc.) represented by the "number" infinity. 8toInfinity Also, the number 8 has a lot of symbolism attached to it and, of course, is the infinity sign itself. Just all felt right to me. Believe it or not, I chose the name BEFORE Adam's tattoo, but I loved it when he got it. \

A (mostly former) computer gamer here, and always had quite a time coming up with original, distinctive and memorable character names for a party of 6. You know, the sort where 2 humans, 1 elf, 1 dwarf, 1 gnome and 1 fairie go out to fight and eventually defeat the big bad foozle? "Ayleim" and "Sharis" eventually appeared in every party I created. Since hubby said Sharis would be a good name for a RL daughter, Ayleim became my online alter ego. Um, no. My daughter's name is NOT Sharis. We drew straws, and our daughter was dubbed with my hubby's invention for the sneaky female rogue in HIS games. If I have another daughter, she'll get saddled with Sharis though. Edit : (un)fortunately, the choice of name was not prophetic. She's probably the physically clumsiest child in her preschool, but talks a mile a minute. I guess that makes her the "conman"-type rogue instead of the "thief"-type rogue....

My name - short for "little miracles". What were my folks thinking? : And "pf" for Planet Fierce of course...which I mourned for months before I found Atop. Bless you, Q3.

I got fed-up with being called 'Jo's mum' or 'Deb's mum' that I rebelled. As I said, long before they ruled my life I was Gill, just Gill .

"Queen" for self-empowerment, "Al" short for my nickname Ali (short for Alexandra), but QueenAl was taken on twitter so I added an "e" for QueeenAl
Later found it to be prophetic for Q+AL ... since then I flooove it hard

Your names sparked me to think....( )
Someday we should ask/share about the concept of the "names" we have chosen. [grins] Well, enough people have probably heard this, but sure! HoppersSkippersMiners is a throwback to the first summer I was hired as a research assistant as an undergrad. It was with the Entomology Department (i.e. "bugs"), and while the main project was with a butterfly called a Silver Spotted Skipper, we were also dealing with Marsh Hoppers and Locust Leaf Miners. After that summer I SWORE I would NEVER work with butterflies again!! And, lo, my eventual specialties had not a thing to do with them. [evil grin]. That said, I still have a fondness for all. Here are my critters: A skipper A hopper Miners, doing what miners do best....... So thats YOUR hopper on my couch! Wanna have him back? I don't mind though, I would keep him if that's all right with you
ETA: Did you guys notice how chapf made my hopper all sparkly, referencing the "glamhopper" tweet?

I love astronomy (no I am not a brain like Dr. Bri though I did take it in college). I read the "Gaia Hypothesis" by John Lovelock in the mid 90's. His thesis is we were "seeded" by the Pleiades and Maia is the brightest star - the connection to the sometimes earth called "Gaia". Alcyone in the Pleides is the star that the Milky Way rotates around.
In the mid 90's my email was m45Maia. I think when things on earth are boring, painful, and frustrating, I go off-planet and "dream" of more that we could be. Adam is the ultimate dream - beauty in all forms - sight, sound, and a heart that is unlimited.
