Hi, everyone I'm enjoying reading about how everyone came up with your interesting names. My name is Nancy and I married a Bill, hence Nannygoat and Billygoat with their 3 Kids. Every year my sister sends me a 'goat' from my 4th Kid (my nephew) who I cared for at his birth. I have every kind of goat imaginable!

Back in 2006, the company I worked for was doing visual effects for the Superman Returns movie. I loved reading rumors about the project "from the other side", in other words, from the point of view of the Superman fans on forums (there was a forum called BlueTights at that point dedicated mostly to that upcoming film alone). I wanted to have a name that does not reveal my true identity, while paying homage to Superman's home planet (Krypton) and had my birth year in it. So I combined "crypto" (Greek for hidden, secret), "Man from Krypton" and 1968 and voila!
The movie came out and kinda flopped, although we got an Oscar nomination for effects (Pirates 2 won that year deservingly), but the name stuck since I was using it for my YouTube account. Now Google asks me daily if I want to switch to my real identity, and I still refuse.
When I first came to ATop the night after the EMAs, I wanted to use my "real" nickname which is "Bobo", but it was already taken, so I reused my alternative one...

My nick is formed with my initials d.y.g. and for twitter I added PF for Planet Fierce, when we moved there from MJ's blog.
Not very creative but easy to remember ;-)
What a great idea to explain our nicks!!!!

It's so much fun reading how everyone chose their name! Thanks, stampsgal, for the suggestion!

My name is not very romantic or imaginative, but I like how I got it. Years ago when my daughter was still a school girl she decided I needed to be online so she set me up an email account and used jean1010 as my user name which is my name coupled with the numbers on the house we lived in at the time. I have been using variations of it ever since. I am oddly sentimental about it because my daughter and I had so much fun that day, and each time I type it in, I think of her.

Marel is a combination of my first and second names. Lots of cats over the years but too confusing to remember which combination of pets I signed up with. I'd like to thank AFL and you all for keeping me. Involved. I fell two weeks ago and now have a new hip - sitting with nursing care and blasting MTN!Glad I went to LV but I 'll be ready to dance again! Go get 'em with that new hip and crank up the tunes. But, really, sorry about hip. Glad you've got internet.

Oops, I forgot to add my story. Back in the early days of Idol Forums, I was wink(something... usually numbers). This was Season 8 - Adam Lambert and I was experiencing what many of you experienced as the season unfolded.... just craziness about this guy -- nothing like i'd ever experienced as a fan before. On the forums, I told a sloppy story about how I didn't know what was happening to me -- and I'd found myself in a bit of a trance in a grocery store aisle just thinking about Adam and I cried -- right there in the grocery aisle. It was just those crazy feelings of that whole season whirling through my brain -- constantly! Someone posted in response to my story "clean up in aisle 5" so my Planet Fierce Handle was born and I was "cleanupinaisle5" on PF for the duration. When we moved to Adamtopia I decided it was time to go back to being Wink-something and it was pretty cool to just be able to use Winks and not have to add numbers to it. (Signed up early.) Winks itself isn't very interesting. Wink is part of my last name and the nickname winks is just an extension.

I'm not very creative. I wanted to use a name so I used my grandmother's name. I'm glad we're doing this, it's really interesting.
