How can artists survive with this kind of pressure? Sell or your gone.. kind of like publish or perish.. so how can an artist experiment and grow?? |

I'm glad to have seen the Sam Bailey vids, but while I think she's great for a talent show and her voice is powerful, but has a sameness about it--like she is coloring inside the lines if that makes any sense. Also, our dear friend Mayumi is going to Miami to see/hear Adam, and her family and friends live near Manila, so they were not directly affected by the Typhoon. Oh! Thank you for the info about Mayumi!! I was fretting a bit, wondering if any of her Filipino family had been affected by the typhoon. Thanks for the concern and prayers. My family is safe but thousands have died, left homeless, injured, sick, etc. the devastation is horrific. Anderson Cooper has done a marvelous job reporting at ground zero. He has praised the Filipino's strength and resiliency in the face of tragedy. President Obama has just nominated him as U.N. Ambassador to the Philippines and there is bipartisan support for his nomination. I cannot think of anyone more deserving and qualified. On another note, I have been here in New Orleans for the last few days on business. Yesterday I was talking to a colleague from Scotland and somehow ended talking about Adam ( I wonder how that happened?). Anyway, today he told me that he spoke to his 14 year old daughter back in Scotland so she googled him and told him, "OMG, he is sooooo good and sooooo hot. Thank your friend for telling me about him. Cannot wait to introduce him to my friends!" My DS and I will be spending Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Mangokat then we will go to Miami to Adam's concert. So looking forward to seeing Atopers and BB of course. On the origin of my name, in Tagalog, it means gentle and ladylike which describes my Mom. I so want to emulate her. I can only hope to be half as "mayumi" as her. hugs to all..... |
