OT Hey just driving back from grocery shopping...listening to 101.5 (as I switched from the horrible new Lana Del rays song on 98.5 (Virigin).
A local football player who is playing in a play-off game this afternoon was in the studio this morning pumping up the game etc. He is 27. The DJ's they asked him which song they would like to pump into the locker room as his exit song to the show.(didn't make sense to me the way they phased it but maybe I was not listening carefully....anyway)
He chose La Chic Le Freak (haha). The DJ's said.. really?...he says something like ...yup that's the one.
OLD or YOUNG people know that song! Luck was on Adam's side when Sam took the initiative to tweet Nile. It has opened my eyes to Nile whom I never knew before. And it has opened a few eyes for Adam as well.
Maybe not for this football player...YET....but baby steps ...right! You never know when these connections ....connect. (six degrees of separation in music biz)

I'm still in the DOI rabbit hole but yesterday naturally even more... First my apologies for miscredit - the photobucket link to Sauli's DOI clips was provided by blueberry, huge thanks! My nick stems from my second first name, Maria (both my grandmothers had that name) and I wanted to use it online in some form. When moving to another town to study I even considered using it as my first name but never got around to do it. Well, that's a very common name internationally and even at first try (abt ten years ago) I needed to modify it a lot - but I really wanted something like a name with no numbers. Actually, there were so many tries needed that I ended up with a modification attached to a Roman number in order to get on with it, lol. Later on, I modified the modification with several closely related nicks for other sites, and belle is one of them - luckily no Roman numbers were needed here. There's irony with the reference to beauty but I like the connotations with flowers that part of the time hide and part of the time come to life and/or reveal their best, also to some butterflies. Also, I want to think that there's a reference to Adam in a distant way, toning it down sometimes and then opening up in full OTT mode... As for your nick stories, I've enjoyed reading them all but two of them made me want to comment. Theosgma always meant 'the' 'osgma' to me, not that I had any idea of what 'osgma' might mean but I just happened to read it that way - and I believe the first impression will stick with me even though I now know more. The other nick is annala and the reason is just language. In Finnish we have a lot of locations with a name that ends with -la, even more surnames that were first adopted from the place they lived in. There was a time when people only had a first names and if something more specific was needed their father's name was attached (like Paul, son of Matthew). Then the Swedish that reigned Finland at that time wanted to impose taxes more comprehensively and registers required better identification > people took the name of the place where they lived or the house they were working for as their surname. The place was often named after a distinctive nature trait - the house was usually named after it's owner's first name. So, we have surnames like beach-la, hill-la etc but also peter-la, george-la and so forth. For that reason, to me 'annala' means a place where Anna lives or Anna's house, a rarity when it's a female name (and my mother's name). And in addition to that I know a place in Tampere that's called Annala, that's about 30 kms from the place I was born and lived for 19 years and have later found two pals who live there.

1. RCA exercised the option for A3, Adam would have no way to get out of the contract unless RCA decided they did not want another Adam album even though they paid him the first part of his advance. With the management changes/restructuring at RCA and the reduction in the roster to hit Sony profit goals, it is possible that RCA decided to cut this project because it was high-risk. They negotiated for the longer release window to get something out of the advance.
Q3, With this option RCA went ahead and picked up third album, but then changed their minds though they had given out some cash advance. I am reading this right? Part of this deal was a longer release time. What I am wondering is what RCA gets out of a longer release time? It seems since they already own the albums, he doesn't have much more to give them. I am always very baffled by and curious about these business things.

All this talk of Idol brings back such memories. Until Adam I was never that much of a viewer of the show. My first song was Satisfaction and I was hooked from that time. knew he was gay when he pronounced the word record in a accent I recognized and thought to myself, hard row for him to hoe, must vote like crazy for him! I've never "fangirled" or voted for anyone before Adam and I shocked myself and DH by standing in front the TV talking back to it with my hands held under my chin on that fateful night. The feels that finale gave me have stayed and grown. While DH has been supportive he has never fully understood. Until...
My favorite moment this year:
the Iheart Queen/Adam show. DH heard the music, which I was blasting, in another room and came to watch stating "now I understand what you see in him". This has lead to him going with me to Winstar and his first concert!!!! His lack of understanding was he is not a fan of pop, but his favorite is classic rock. Wonder how many others like him came to appreciate Adam because of Queen? The silent unknown who do not use social media.

*** OT *** For the most eager to watch, the last episode of Sauli's show. BTW it's doing fine in ratings and there are plans for a sequel. www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2yF9kvP_V0Also I noticed many members were interested in Sauli's DOI performances last night, happy to provide info on that. In view of the interest I want to share the power ballad, the song apparently of Sauli's choice for their second performance last night. The song has a very strong message of knowing his soulmate but living the life without him, knowing for certain that there'll a time much later when they'll be joined, forever. (No 'problem' in the pronouns as we have only one for both genders.) 'Minä ja hän' (Me and him) by Jenni Vartiainen, here a fan video with lyrics in English www.youtube.com/watch?v=O81O1JF_ZfIAnd if you like skating I hope you don't miss their first perfomance, the vogueing which was great too, I loved the attitude and body language.

So cool! This is at least his second time. This proves to me that they recycle clues! Yes, but how great is it that they didn't write 'singer LEVINE'

Milliemom, you are so right about Adam needing his own TV Show because he just explodes on the screen as proven by the army of rabid fans that he got from his appearance on Idol that was hooked enough to still be passionate five years later. Michael Slezak called him a "Tornado of Charisma" in his recent Glee review, and it certainly was a spot-on label. I picture a show with a mix of comedy, music performance and fashion a little like the old Sonny and Cher show, but updated and with some interviews thrown in. I agree ...Adam has so many talented people in his life that It would be a great show.. Fun,energy ,and talent..I want this TV show NOW.. There is a real need for quality TV entertainment ,instead of one Reality show after another.. Who do we go to??
