Thank you for puting here your Favorite Adam Moments of 2013, Q3. I think we are lucky fans. So many such fabulous events! I remember last December Adam in his interview on Jingle Ball in San Francisco got a question: "Do you believe the world will be ending on December 21st." Adam's answer: "No, I don't think that's gonna happen. I hope no. I mean, I got plans, you know? I got big things to do next year." And he was so right! This year was so exciting and great! I was afraid after the We Are Glamily Tour ended and Adam said he was going to work on his new album, there would have not been too much opportunities for fans to see him. Thankfully this never happens! Just the opposite! We got so many events, performances and even a TV show and a new song with Adam! It's been a great and succesfull year so far and I just wish it continues this way. Here is the Jingle Ball San Francisco interview: Adam Lambert @ Star 101.3's Jingle Ball
And my favorite events? I love all of them. It's always a treat to see or hear Adam. Anyway, I think the highlight of this year for me is Adam's performance on Life Ball in Vienna - I was there (with my daughter and QueeenAi *waves* ) and seeing Adam live with my own eyes is the best thing ever!). And I love Adam on Glee! I thought it was a great thing for him (and his fans) since we first heard about it. But I confess I didn't expext it would be SO great and so much giving. *happy dances* Thanks for bringing that interview over. It seems like it has really low play and comment numbers for a pretty darn good interview. I think maybe we were so concentrating on Divas that it didn't get a lot of hits.

"Come on in the water's fine", they said. "There's plenty of company to splash around with here in the shallow end", they said. They were RIGHT! Thank you for making me feel so welcome when I finally decided to test the waters. Haha. Why was I so *skerd*?
I'm so happy you decided to keep posting! Looking forward to reading your wonderful writing! and y'all LURKERS - please post! Once you start - you'll see how much more interesting the whole journey becomes! On the Adam front - I've been watching the number of "likes" on the Adamlambert Instagram... The great news is this number is the UP lately. A new photo Adam posts is likely to get around 20K+ likes, up from around typical 10K+ likes just a few weeks ago. The latest picture gathered 20.5K in less than 2 days! instagram.com/p/gwJ7TgONN9/

My son is a video game producer. He was producing the Idol game for cell phones at the time, working with Freemantle, thru EA. That's how I was able to go! Finale tickets were almost impossible to get that year! There was a preparty for VIP ticket holders. This Gold ticket was a Photo Op with the Idol audition background! I also have a pic of me with a lifesize Adam cardboard cutout, but haven't found it yet! :( Ok - my envy factor just climbed even higher, but THAT'S SO COOL!! [evil grin] Now that we've gone forward in time and Adam has truly become Queen's go-to lead singer, in retrospect, how was that very first Queen w/ Adam performance? Fuckin AMAZING!! Remember, Queen had just been a rumor! But they set up during commercial and the audience went nutso! Debbie, the stage director, tried in vain to do her normal back from commercial countdown, but to no avail! It was EPIC!! So was KISS! LOL! It really was the best Idol Finale ever! KISS, Queen, Cyndi Lauper, Keith Urban! And OFC, Adam! I enjoyed every minute! I didn't expect Adam to win! Been an Idol stan since season one, so I knew Kris was going to get Gokey's votes!

I didn't expect Adam to win either. He was just too outré, to quote Kurt. I was surprised he lasted as long as he did. Idol had a long record of NOT crowning the best singer in the competition. And advancing some cringe-worthy ones for way too long. It was a testimony to how extraordinary Adam's vocals were, and how charismatic his personality, that he made it to the runner-up position.
I will be forever grateful to Idol that year for choosing Adam - in itself, a decision that was contrary to their general practice of not casting professional, classically trained singers. What a wonderful launching pad.

> Myspenser: On the Davidson/Valentini Award -- yes, you caught me! I agree it should get it's own number. I intended to put it first and then add the other related items after it but got tired last night and figured I would change it when I got up. It could magically change in a few minutes. Q3, you have a pretty good list of year highlights. I'd probably add the separation from RCA, which has the potential to change the future in a big way. I almost put on "Emancipation from RCA" at #1 but I pretty sure he is completely free yet. Assuming that RCA decided to drop Adam in Q1 2013 (final decision could have been in April 2013), and it is for a year, then I think the highlight will be in 2014 - Adam announces new label agreement. I could be off a month and it could be December vs. Q1, but I think he is free sometime in Q1 2014. My bet is on January 2014. In January 2013, when Adam's agreement with 19 Recordings expired, he was in discussion with RCA about his next album. The next thing we know is that in July 2013, Adam/his management announced that he had parted ways with RCA over creative differences. In January 2013 from Billboard.com: A rep for Lambert says the two parties (Adam and 19R) leave "amicably and with the utmost respect for each other," adding that the decision is but one part of the singer's "evolution," which began when he joined Direct Management Group, home to Katy Perry among other clients.I think the second part of the "singer's evolution" was to leave RCA which seems to have happened shortly after he left 19R. Adam has some kind of separation agreement from RCA that granted them some rights for probably a year after it was signed. I do not know the terms of the release agreement except that it involved at least three dates which can be determined from observation. 1. April 2013 - Adam could work on other artists' music without an addition release. (no release statement on AVICII's album). 2. November 2013 - Adam can talk about discussions with other labels; RCA lost the right to keep Adam on their artist roster; Adam took over his website. 3. Some form of restriction on Adam signing with another label still appears to be in place -- otherwise he would have a new deal. And before anyone feels like RCA trapped Adam into something -- Adam would have gotten some form of compensation for signing this kind of release agreement -- above and beyond the royalties he was already entitled to. If RCA chose not to exercise its option for A3, the contract would have terminated around April 2013 even though the split was not announced until July 2013. Something else must have happened that extended RCA's rights about a year longer then they would have been under the contract terms. And the only way those kind of things happen is if some form of compensation is involved. The two things I can come up with are: 1. RCA exercised the option for A3, Adam would have no way to get out of the contract unless RCA decided they did not want another Adam album even though they paid him the first part of his advance. With the management changes/restructuring at RCA and the reduction in the roster to hit Sony profit goals, it is possible that RCA decided to cut this project because it was high-risk. They negotiated for the longer release window to get something out of the advance. 2. RCA did not exercise the second contract option but compensated Adam to give RCA a longer window before he signed with another label. (This makes no sense to me since they would gain little.) Then there is the issue of cross-collateralization -- since Trespassing probably did not cover recoupable expenses (I am 99% sure), if Adam stayed with RCA and did any album, he would get an advance but he would not get any performer royalties from the the album sales until after A3 covered the recoupable expenses from Trespassing and A3. It may seem like RCA did not spend "any" money on Trespassing but Adam/RCA spent a lot of money on that album -- mostly on production and radio promotion. Adam would be far better off signing with another label. In any case, and in spite of the long-winded answer, I think that he may not be free to sign with a new label yet.

For me, the highlight of 2013 was this amazing week in July, when Shosh was in LA, so we knew something would happen, first they announced that he was on Glee, then that he was leaving RCA and finally we heard about the iHeart concert. A publicity master plan was executed perfectly, and we all knew that Adam was in very good hands.
What a fantastic roller-coaster of a week, for me, all three major events were great news, and his career has only pointed upwards since. To me, that week (starting 7/10/13) is the highlight and the turning point, that will always separate the time before and the time after of his career.
