Yippie, I am so glad you said what you said! I've been wanting to say something for a long time now but I just stopped posting all together instead. I feel if we don't like something we should keep it to ourselves. This board is to celebrate Adam not criticize one another. Just my opinion of course. I would feel terrible if the doll maker saw some of the posts or Lee Cherry saw how much some of you hated the tank top picture. It's all a personal choice but please stay positive on this site!!! This site is for a respectful exchange about Adam and things related to Adam. It is not forbidden to be critical of Adam, a photo of Adam, a new hairstyle or even Adam artwork created and shared by an artist. The only thing that is forbidden it to be critical of that individual artist, or to criticize the person who made expressed an opinion rather than disagree with the opinion. I have been known to be critical of some of Adam's fashion choices (aqua boardshorts) or a performance that was not 100% or his former label. All well within the Adamtopia guidelines. That said, it is often much more fun to be positive. ** I was an art major and wanttabe artist when I was younger. We had to put our work in front of our classmates, instructors, professors and judges for regular critiques. The rule was simple, critique the art not the artist. It was sometime very hard to have your work criticized but it is how we improved. I patterned the rules at Adamtopia a bit after that. Artists have a choice - the can keep their artwork in a closet or under their beds, or they can share it. If they choose to share it, and the doll maker artist has made this choice and continues to make this choice, then they know they will get some positive comments and some negative comments. It is the way it is. In Lee Cherry's case, he is a commercial artist as I once was. He makes are and knows it will be always get a mixed response -- the commercial artist's biggest fear is getting no response. I will get off my soapbox but, as I have said before on many occasions, the moment this site is all and only compliments and praise for everything Adam is the moment I will close it because there is no discussion in a world of total agreement. I do not expect that to ever happen. Finally, that is way there is a rule about there being no right way to be an Adam fan on this forum. *** Now I site in Miami, watching the rain and hoping it clears up by 8:00PM.

I truly hope Adam's fan, the doll costume designer, doesn't visit here. What a punch in the stomach it would be to read that your work is creepy. Replicas are created of most famous people, and I find her work creative and of professional quality. I enjoy seeing the results of her efforts. As for opera - I would love to hear Adam sing opera. His performance of "Come To Me, Bend To Me" is so incredible. I think it would be glorious to hear him utilize his full range and fullness/richness. He is a man of many facets, and if this genre could be one of them, I would love to experience it at some point. It wouldn't take anything away from his pop career, only make more people awar of his amazing talents and add new fans, IMO. I hope that shaved off hair grows back quickly. heh. It is all over the web and Twitter. And this forum is kind compared to Twitter. AO.com peeps are just brutal about them. Personally, whatever makes people happy is OK with me and I admire the skill she has at dollmaking.

It has stopped raining in Miami Beach but it is raining over downtown.
The sky is now partly sunny (mostly clouds). Very odd weather for November 30 in Miami.

I truly hope Adam's fan, the doll costume designer, doesn't visit here. What a punch in the stomach it would be to read that your work is creepy. But if it's followed up by choruses of "aw, we don't find it creepy, we love it", I doubt the doll-maker would feel that bad... right? If as many of us express our opinion as possible, it'd be a better gauge of the overall crowd response - and it'd be an honest reflection, not one manufactured by fear of expressing differing views. So.... if we see things differently from someone else, let's just say how we feel? Edit : Really must learn to read to end of the thread before responding. I love how Q3 expresses the philosophy of this site, and how it's run. And the personal time and resources that have been put into this board. Thank you so much!

Just want to say I really enjoy looking at the dolls -- the attention to detail is amazing. Thank you to the dollmaker and those who post the pics here. I know that some people find dolls in general are creepy -- just like some people don't like clowns or puppets or any number of things. I hope the dollmaker is aware of that and keeps sharing her creations with us.
