Totally off topic But what a a thrill to listen to a live stream last night of the Miami concert. This is one of the few times I have to say I thought one of his songs was way off. Reading sound was a problem but.... The DRAGON ATTACK was off. I thought Adam started off on the wrong key and the band was awful. They did not do this song justice. I am in awe of BRIAN MAYS and Roger Taylor. Adam has such stellar vocals and I really feel he needs to have better instrumentation. I know he's a loyal friend but his concerts could fly to moon and back w a superior band. oh well...Kickin in is still one of my favorate songs from tp, it's so kick ass... Dragon Attack was kind of a disaster but I'm not sure I'd blame it on the band. Adam could not find the right key, probably earpiece problems, as you suggest. The band might have been in high panic about what to do--continue playing, stop and let Adam get the problem fixed??? That would be enough to throw them off and make an unstable performance, I think. One of Tommy Joe's guitars that was not properly tuned -- although I do not know if it was what messed up Dragon Attack, it was a problem. I have not watched the videos but it was pretty clearly an issue for a couple of songs. No knock on the band or Tommy from me -- in fact, I thought that Tommy was about as good as I have ever seen him.

I wonder if the changing of the venue from outside to inside had anything to do with the sound problems?? Not enough time for good soundcheck.. music from the other room ,when they did the soundcheck inside at the night club? IMHO Adam seemed to be doing a bit of testing right before he performed his songs..It sounded great to me on the videos..although Dragon attack seemed different.. couldn't figure it out from home. What was the night club like, did Adam have a good sized audience?

WE ARE PRETTY SURE THERE WAS NO SOUND CHECK! Did you ever see Adam take the stage without a sound check? He was fussing between every song and pretty much gave up after Dragon Attack. He was heard to say after Purple Haze that it was over. Not doing another (two encores were planned). He was amazing. It was a spectacular performance but filled with audio issues. In Eowyn's videos, you can see his face as he looks at the sound guy with his back to the audience. What a pro. On one side he is happy and brilliant when giving it all to the audience and on the other, totally pissed off at the sound guys.

There was plenty of time for a sound check even with the change in venue.
Adam and the band had a lengthy rehearsal before the Fontainebleau concert -- in a second floor ballroom.
The equipment was moved from the lawn stage at 3:30PM and set up by 4:30PM. I talked the the guys moving the equipment. There was a scheduled sound check. So if there was no sound check, it was Adam's/the bank's choice -- and would be surprising to me that they would do that.
The only sound problem I heard was one on Tommy's guitars was out of tune which knocked everything out of whack. Really effected Dragon Attack.
ETA: There were speakers at the edge of the stage right in front of fans -- some of whom were videoing. Anything recorded in these locations will be both distorted and out of balance. Hopefully, someone will put the close video with the good audio recorded under the dome. Also, the club is designed for recorded music not live performances -- the "VIP" area was in front of the high speakers.
ETA2: I do not think Adam was not testing anything -- he was playing around vocally after the songs, the audience loved it and he kept doing it. It was loose, not tight and precise like some Adam performances -- but hugely entertaining. It really felt like a private concert.

The love for Adam is unconditional and boundless They stopped after Purple Haze because they hit the time limit -- at least that is what the head of security told me. They had a hard stop at 10:30PM so they could clear the audience, set up for LIV and the DJ. I am pretty sure that is why Adam said it was over. And "Shady" was after "Dragon Attack" and great. ETA: I just started to listen to a few videos -- and this is not someone who is singing for some kind of mid-concert sound check -- he was playing around -- and it was beautiful. These two videos are from the front where the sound was less than great -- and it is still pretty awesome. youtu.be/vGJ5Wbp71RMHere is another example of him playing around... www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7wPUqxDx3gThe above video has the messed up Dragon Attack -- but it appears there was some mix up between Adam and the band -- not a sound issue.

Sorry, I respectfully do not agree. It was a sound issue. There was confusion for sure but it was based on the sound problems. A lot of imbalance between the instruments. Watch Eowyn's videos. Tommy's guitar was initially not heard at all and Adam was emphatically pointing at it and making faces at the sound people. He continued making faces after that was solved. Her video was very revealing as she took them from that side and recorded his interactions with the sound people. I haven't watched all of her vids but some of the ones I watched showed him looking over and making faces. What does not show on the individual song vids (haven't watched Butterknife and that might show up since her recording was continuous) was that pretty much after every song set, he was right back there with the sound people going at it. I hung around from 3 PM all the way through to 8 PM right outside the club without a break hoping for a sound check. I asked several times about the sound check and was told they were still setting up the equipment and testing. The doors of the club were open. You could hear what they were doing. I never heard Adam. I could be dead wrong but just reporting what I saw and heard. Maybe I nodded off but I don't think so. Did anyone else hear a sound check?
