Theosgma: "Sorry,
I respectfully do not agree. It was a sound issue. There was confusion
for sure but it was based on the sound problems. A lot of imbalance
between the instruments. Watch Eowyn's videos. Tommy's guitar was
initially not heard at all and Adam was emphatically pointing at it and
making faces at the sound people. He continued making faces after that
was solved. Her videos are very revealing as she took them from that
side and recorded his interactions with the sound people. I haven't
watched all of her vids but the ones I watched showed him constantly
looking over and making faces. I also talked to security about the
sound check. I hung around from 3 PM all the way through to 8 PM right
outside the club without a break. I asked several times about the sound
check and was told they were still setting up the equipment and
testing. The doors of the club were open. You could hear what they
were doing. We never heard Adam. I could be dead wrong but just
reporting what I saw and heard. I was waiting and hoping for that sound
check. Maybe I nodded off but I don't think so"

I was only in front of the club from 3:45PM - 4:30PM and then back at 7:00PM along with about a hundred people in line and the doors were locked tight. There is a separate, secured, private hallway for the performers and production crew, so fans would not see anything related to a sound check. But if there was a sound check, and if it could have been heard outside the club with the doors closed, I was not there to hear it.
I was told by 3 different people a sound check was scheduled. I talked to the production guys who moved the equipment. We happened to be at the Lawn Stage at 3:20PM when they started to breakdown the equipment and we followed them when they moved the equipment. They told us it was moving to LIV. We talked to the head of the production crew who told us they had until the 5:00PM sound check to move the equipment.
Several guys moved the equipment into the building and then took a service hallway with secured doors to the club. We went to the front doors of LIV. The doors were locked and there was no way to see in.
I was in the curved hallway in front of the LIV doors talking to some fans I meet there for a while. Then a security guy came and told us we had to leave the hallway in front of the club. He said he did not know if there was a sound check and said that we would not be able to hear it from outside the club.
Then I spoke with the BleauLive concert series manager to find out if there was anything difference about getting into the venue since the concert was moved. He offered the information that they made the decision to move the concert at 3:00PM so there would be time to set up for the sound check.
I do know they rehearsed for a couple of hours earlier in the day so they may have passed on the sound check. But if so, as far as I can determine, it was Adam's decision not to do a live sound check. And most certainly someone did an instrument check.
No doubt, Adam was not happy with the sound mix, but that is neither new or novel. I have been to a number of concerts where he similarly stage-directed the sound guy. And all of those had sound checks.
>> So if there was no sound check, it was not because of the venue move or because of a slow set up. It was Adam's choice.
>> I would be shocked if Brian did not at least do a band sound check at 7:00PM before they let fans in. And the sound issues were mostly related to the band.
Finally, I did not find the sound issues (and I think the sound engineer intentionally dropped the sound level on Tommy's guitar because it was out of tune) to be the most notable thing about this concert.
ETA: I have have some time to listen to the videos from Fontainebleau -- and all I can find were recorded close to the stage under the flat ceiling. There were many people videoing near me -- under the ceiling dome and I hope some of them post videos online. The audio where I was was nothing like what I hear on those videos. I played them for the people who were near me, and they agree it is so different it is hard to believe it is the same concert.
