YAY for the move up.  I wonder, though - where can we see the ranking of those videos? I can't find any. '@ 14gelly Go to that video and click on "Videos" for the GLEE channel. You'll see all the official Glee videos. Sort by "most watched." You should see this: www.youtube.com/user/GleeOnFox/videos?flow=grid&sort=p&view=0That's not possible for me as the channel is blocked, not available at all. Also when they publish new clips they cannot be searched - some of them are opened for search later, but not all. Luckily, when a link to a preview is posted I can watch it. |

Thank you! But this is the problem - I can't see videos on Glee channel. :( Thankfully I can see individual videos - MTN for example. But if I click on the "Videos" button it says "Channel is not available  . Anyway thank you and Nica for the explanation.  |

Nobody, including me, ever said that there isn't room for both Adam and Freddie in the world of music, or that everyone has to like Adam better. This began when cassie said that Adam is a better singer than Freddie, and adamme objected, saying that it's only cassie's opinion that Adam is better and not fair to compare the two because Freddie wasn't a trained singer. I was just pointing out that preference does not equal ability. No way in hell could Freddie have held that note in "Come to Me, Bend to Me"--y'all know the one I'm talking about--as steadily and beautifully as Adam did. I've never heard Freddie demonstrate the amazing control that Adam has. Nor does he have quite the range. These are objective--not subjective--criteria on which to judge the ability of a singer. Go ahead. Love Freddie with all your heart. Heck, I love Willie Nelson's singing, which is reedy and shows about as much range as a tea kettle. I love his emotional connection to the songs he sings--"Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" gets me every time--but I'm not going to claim that he is a better singer than Adam or Freddie. No one is trying to suggest that anyone who isn't Adam should be drummed out of show business. Merely pointing out that Adam, by all objective criteria, is a superior vocalist to the vast majority of popular singers, including Freddie. Does it matter? Oh, probably not. But what's wrong with discussing it? Nothing wrong with discussing. But there is a difference between writing "I think...." or "My preference is..." versus "Merely pointing out that Adam, by all objective criteria, is a superior vocalist to the vast majority of popular singers, including Freddie." What objective criteria? Which performances? Do I compare Adam's most recent performance in Miami Beach to Freddie in Montreal 1981? I think we can all agree that is not a fair comparison. And the reverse (plucking a weak, poorly recorded Freddie performance vs. an HD video of Adam and Queen) is not fair either. I do not want to eliminate the emotional component. I do not want to be completely objective about art and performance. I also do not know how to be completely objective about Adam or Freddie. Love changes how we perceive things -- at least it does for me. Finally, while I agree that Adam is a superior vocalist to the vast majority of popular singers, I do not agree with the last part of your statement "including Freddie." So we will just have to agree to disagree. |
