So, Adam is moving. Good for him.
I have always thought (with no substantiation whatsoever) that Adam's move to the condo was mostly for Sauli. Some place they picked out together, rather than a place Sauli moved into. More convenient location since Sauli didn't have a car or drive, as far as I know. And a sauna on site. In hindsight, we know that things had been waning in the relationship, and I wondered if this was Adam's attempt to solidify it again with a home that was picked out by and for both. I would not be surprised if Adam opted for a house again, now that he is single.
Just my totally invented thoughts.

Once again though while I know Brian and Roger both adore Adam and rightfully, you have to take their comments with a LITTLE bit of salt. They always tend to be a bit more....ebullient when discussing current projects. Paul was "Freddie's favorite singer" at one point and Brian has gone on record to say that his album with Kerry Ellis is what he's musically most proud of. They are also far more effusive about others than themselves...If they overpraise Freddie it's like they are being cocky and arrogant because their work is wrapped up in his work. SO not to completely poo-poo it...just adding some perspective.

I do realize I'm not on a Queen centric board but an Adam one but I still always have a hard time reading that someone isn't awed by Freddie's voice! (Sorry Nica) I can't see how that's possible. awwww... Talon, I seriously love you! You are so patient and thorough and knowledgeable and a good sport overall! I got distracted from the board right before your great post and so, most of the points were already discussed... I just want to say, I totally understand the statement (in the quote) just because I feel exactly the same way about Adam's voice; and not just his singing voice, his talking voice as well. I am convinced it is a physiological reaction and as such is very subjective. But TECHNICALLY, Adam is a superior singer - as we've discussed at length.... The 'comparison' discussion always gets turned into the song writing direction - WHY? I personally don't care who wrote a song, it is a different skill, and mixing them makes no sense to me, as well as playing instruments - yet another skill. But I know, this has been discussed many times on this board... in my world of classical music this is understood, I know in other genres, where the singing is usually sub par anyway - the song writing is important...I will never understand this... Do I care if Placido Domingo plays an instrument? -NO, and IDK if he does. Do I care if he can conduct an orchestra? - NO, although he can and he does. Does conducting make him a better artist than Luciano? NO. ...anyhoo.... Oh...I would die to hear Adam without amplification ...that's what I am used to on the opera stage, that's where the beauty and the power are not distorted... but except for a couple of the last radio tour tiny venues he is always behind a mic...I guess it was the same for Freddie...

Well we have to agree to disagree. Songwriting comes into play because I think of the overall package and of staying power and of recogntion. Placido Domingo has worlds of classical pieces written by some of the greatest composers in the world to sing. Adam has been getting mostly (and don't flay me here) forgettable electro pop. Don't get me wrong, they are sometimes catchy, and they are sometimes fun but if anyone else sang them, would you guys really dig the songs? He's not getting great songs to sing. Freddie being a songwriter takes care of that distinction. Not that Freddie didn't cover anyone - The Great Pretender was friggin awesome. His work on Time was phenomenal...but Freddie didn't have to rely on someone to write him a song that will be remembered. He did it himself. To me that's partially where the discussion changes. It's not just Adam vs Freddie as a singer but it's Adam vs Freddie as a musical icon. As far as pure singing, see it still is subjective as I think that Freddie is still a superior singer. Adam has a better high range, although Freddie has more of a range. I believe Freddie is also more powerful overall, and I think Freddie has a more crisp, cutting tone. Again subjective though. I don't mind you thinking otherwise
