I have a little story to share!
Last week my longtime girlfriend who recently moved to Ottawa came to visit for a few days. On a errand wielding trip to Windsor to find door hardware for my ancient reno project I decided to introduce her to the man I stan..
As usual I break in any new potential fans with the acoustic /live EP. I find it fits all genres and shows his voice so well.
As we are listening I tell my friend about finding Adam on AI, falling for his amazing voice ,being hooked by his beautiful spirit, as I support and watch from a distance how he navigates the next few years of his life, answering far too many personal questions that have nothing to do with his music, being judged by his looks, his orientation, finding his "viking" , the finlandia Xmas "event", and so on.
My friends tells me " I should warn you I am not a fan of pretty voices, and I like folk music best because to me the lyrics are most important, the message they carry."
So we listen to
WWFM.. " I think I have heard that " she says.
I hope so! Then
Music Again. " This is appropriate isn't it" she asks me, as I tell her I have found my love of music through Adam again. Yes. Then
Aftermath plays and at the end I look over and the tears are streaming down her face. "He wrote this didn't he?" she asks, and I nod . ( mostly, right? )
We continue on our journey to Windsor and back listening to Trespassing and most of FYI before getting lost in other conversation.
Needless to say when my friend returns to Ottawa today after her long meandering travels to visit old friendships and family she will open the gift box of gingersnaps I sent with her and find the wrapped copy of Adam Lambert Acoustic Live .
Sharing the love.
