Since we are talking about Trespassing a bit, I have always wondered if Runnin' lost its place on album to NCOE, and thus one of fan's favorite songs became a bonus track not available to be a single? My guess is that it was either Runnin or Take Back that lost the spot! :( My guess is Runnin' got bumped for NCOE. URGH, my favorite track on FYE is Voodoo followed closely by CLYG, my fav track on Trespassing is Runnin', for A3 I want a whole album of bonus tracks!

Sorry for the spamming! Trying to catch up after a lovely lunch with Susiefierce, pflynne, 8toinfinity, and politicsislife! ETA: Wondering also, why some people think we are getting Queen tour news tomorrow One of the Queen boys (Brian?) said there would be news Monday, I think.

Can't watch the KP vid and really don't want to. But on whether a singer should be expected to be able to sing on key live - well I go back and forth a bit in my own mind but at the end of the day it's kind of part of the job description of a singer. Are there people out there who can't, never really have and still are revered. Sure. I doubt anyone would say Bob Dylan is a good singer, but for him singing was a delivery method for his poetry of song and nothing more. Is there a place for "entertainers" - sure. Neil Patrick Harris, Hugh Jackman etc are not singers but use singing as a part of their bag of skills, but as a side note still manage to sing on key. So is it unfair to expect someone who calls themselves a singer to sing on key... well let me pose a different question. Is it unfair to expect someone who is a concert pianist to hit the right notes, or a dancer to execute the steps, or a writer to know and use language... Ok enough rambling. #carryon Or a Quarterback to accurately throw the ball to his receivers? Or a chef to use the proper amount of salt, sugar and spices in a dish? Or a tax accountant to accurately complete your tax returns? Or a cashier to ring up the proper amount of your purchases? It is the basic requirement for the job, right? Not only would a singer who cannot sing on pitch consistently not make it into the top ten on a TV reality singing competition, they would not make it in my high school concert choir, much less be chosen to sing a solo. I took it to mean the full interview was coming out Monday. I wasn't expecting anything more than the little snippet of "string of shows" that we've already read.

Listening to Simon and Garfunkle Concert in Central Park - that is what I want for Adam someday - a catalogue of fantastic music and the audience to boot.

My favorite tracks from Adam are his non-pop tracks. TSP was a good album but as I said once before I didn't think any songs on the album had a radio hit. Despite some fans thinking Cuckoo would have been the smash hit it's a song that would have burn out fast on radio. Pop music is and never was about great vocals. When you have the cross overs like Lorde and Adele finding success is because Top 40 pop listeners are hearing something that they normally don't hear on their pop stations and they like what they heard but neither of these artists are top 40 artists. Their home format is AAA. Adam's problem is he isn't a natural fit for Top 40. There's a reason why WWFM was a top #10 hit in over 30 countries. It's a pop-rock song that has Adam's vocals upfront. Everybody can relate to the song. The song connects. The song found it's biggest success on Hot AC not Top 40 radio so Pop radio isn't going to be waiting with open arms for Adam. He'll need a song that will get to top 5 on his home format HAC and cross over to pop. If Adam's next album is any where near funk-disco, R&B/soul I don't think that album will be a commercial success. Adam isn't an R&B/Soul singer. That genre would not accept him. One track "Shady" doesn't make you a funk-disco artist neither. Even though Adam can sing many genres he isn't on American Idol anymore. He has to define his sound moving forward. Maybe Roger Taylor knows something we don't but I'm happy to hear Adam's moving away from pop. It doesn't mean he's not looking for pop radio success. I think Adam can find a middle ground.

INHO well, ladies, I just want to share something I learned here: the most important skill for a singer is to write his/hers own songs... the rest doesn't matter cause everyone can sing...

I wouldn't expect an ill quarterback, ballerina, chef, accountant, etc.etc. to be at the top of their game. Same goes for a singer. I'm cutting KP a break. I love her - and her singing. Everyone has an off day now and then. I give her credit for performing. Go Girl!
