My story.
I felt calm and ready as the concert clock ticked. Finally at 8:30 the lights went down. Everyone started screaming as Adam took the stage! He looked AMAZING in a tailored glittering black jacket and skin tight black pants and big shoes. He was impeccably groomed and looked like Clark Gable (Frankly, my dear, I don't give a fuck?). He is also very buff now. He almost seemed like a different person physically from 18 months ago when we saw him at Winstar before.
The first song was IIHY and that kicked things off with high energy! Many people ran down to the front, which was awesome because instead of standing in front of us, they were gone and we had an unobstructed sightline to the stage the entire time. We could see great! The arena has jumbotrons so anytime I wanted to see Adam's face close up, all I had to do was look up.
Adam has changed his act somewhat from summer 2012 too. At that show, he was a wild man and humped the microphone with manic energy. This time, he was sexy, funny, and crazy but in a more controlled manner.
Adam asked for and got a lot of love and audience participation during Naked Love and Cuckoo. He was basking in the love! His voice was rich and he did a lot of jazz style singing and improvisational "licks." Stage banter was cute and loving and minimal.
During Chokehold, I watched Adam's face on the big screens and his expressions were so powerful. Next he did an amazingly dramatic new version of Mad World where his interpretation in vocals, facial expressions, and gestures, went so far as to suggest desperation or even madness itself. I was blown away. His expressions during WWFM were so tender.
Another highlight for me was LAY ME DOWN! Wow!!! What an amazing number this was live! Adam wailed and rocked it! This is a great song, one of the best dance numbers Adam has ever done! It was awesome in concert.
I loved the way Adam introduced Trespassing by talking about how he didn't like being told what to do. At some point in the concert (I forget when) the security was being heavy handed about fan photos and videos and Adam chided them and then preened for us and sang a great riff inviting us to all take his picture. It was so fun and awesome.
The big surprise came next with a cover of a song called Red House by Jimi Hendrix. I had never heard this song before. Baby sang the blues! Adam's vocals and emotional interpretation were out of this world. I can't wait to listen again (too tired tonight) and put this song on my music player. Overall Adam was much more r&b than pop all night, which gave the concert a very different feel from the 2012 show. Credit where it is due, Tommy really stepped up to the plate on this number.
At some point Adam took off his glittery jacket and revealed his tattooed arms and the "waiter" shirt. Adam always finds a way to upend our expectations in a cool, funny, and individualistic way. Really loved it.
Adam claimed his association with Queen by performing a great version of Dragon Attack and including We Will Rock You. Great audience participation as you might expect. Adam has become a commanding figure.
Shady was the last number and came all too soon! The encore was Are You Gonna Go My Way. This is a song I have never connected with but this time seemed different because of Adam's phrasing and emphasis. He seemed to be inviting us on a call to a new adventure. I am ready!
Went to momtomany's room afterwards for the party. Nice meeting everyone!

Hit the quick reply button a little early. Adam May have felt the different vibe because he only performed one of his songs planned for the encore. He didn't include Purple Haze. The new tux-like shirt under his jacket really looked great on him. He seemed more protective of his glittery jacket because he was careful when he took it off and didn't leave it on the floor. During the Idol Tour concerts he flipped off that expensive blue leather jacket and dropped it on the floor and left others to pick it up. His voice was outstanding and there was even a time where he was holding one of his high notes and Brian was emphasizing it by demonstrating on his keyboard the note. Too bad I no longer remember the keyboard notes but it was definitely one of his higher ones. Cassie may be able to identify it. The different genres he now includes in his concerts is amazing - pop, rock, reggae, blues, and even combos on several songs. Anybody else do this?
The band also sounded great and my niece wasn't sure whether "pretty kitty" was a male or female at first but thought he/she was an excellent guitarist. Adam seems to have a close relationship with Ashley. It's very professional but it's getting closer to the level he has with Tommy. Recovering from long drive back to Tulsa, watching football, and eating good luck foods. If any other memories cone to mind, I'll share. Oh, his concert shoes looked new to me but it's possible we've seen them before. Gelly is the best source regarding outfits and shoes. I liked his NYE look better than Biloxi but when it comes to Adam, it's best to take him anyway you get an opportunity to do so.

I know the feeling. Some people just don't get it no matter how you try to explain it to them. Finally I just think 'whatever' and stop trying!lol Don't want to put down your "friend" or whoever you are arguing with, but anyone who thinks a singer should be imitating the original artists when they do a cover is truly a musical idiot! Sorry! I'm thinking that in my head but I'm not going to say that out loud Unfortunately, I think a lot of people feel that way. Also, I think a lot of people prefer to go to a concert and hear the artist sound "just like on the album". I think that is why we see so much lip synching, etc. I know all of us here look forward to Adam's different interpretations. I mean, just think how many times we've heard Mad World and just when we think we've heard enough, he changes it up in a great way.

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I haven't been posting lately (haven't posted since the board format changed, so we'll see how this goes...) but like many others, I check in here MULTIPLE times a day to see what's happening. Life keeps getting busier, but I'm so appreciative of all who post here and share the bounty of Adam news, photos, vids, etc.
It's been a great year for Adam. I am fascinated by his evolution as an artist and a performer, and so happy for all the many wonderful things that have happened in his career this year. I have no doubt that exciting things will continue to happen for him.
And I love that Buzzworthy article that My S*&@^#r quoted a couple of pages back. "Just give him his own show"! LOL, I love that -- and I'm pretty sure that will eventually happen -- if he wants it.

Oh year, their theme is American Idol success stories. They started with Kelly Clarkson, and now Adam. They are rerunning their interview with Adam during the Life Ball in Vienna.
Edit: that's it. They should have have another interview with him. Now they move on with Fantasia. *Big sad face* :-((

Just thought of a question after the "fainting girl" animation. Did someone mention that a girl fainted in Biloxi? Wondering what happened....
