Here's my take on Lay Me Down: someone put up a cover of it by an unknown not too long ago and it was one of a very few Adam covers that anybody even comes close to how Adam performs it. I think Adam saw that young man's cover of LMD and was determined to do it better. If we all remember the circumstances surrounding the recording of LMD, it's not a stretch to know Adam could definitely improve it. He even commented the first time he used it in concert about his name not being included. At WinStar, LMD was ON FIRE!! His NYE version was his best so far and I'm convinced LMD will be a continuing gift to us all. Since he helped tighten the lyrics when first written, I' m sure we'll hear different added lyrics in the future. It may someday be like WLL as performed at Fantasy Springs (the 7-minute classic).

Don't want to put down your "friend" or whoever you are arguing with, but anyone who thinks a singer should be imitating the original artists when they do a cover is truly a musical idiot! Sorry! I'm thinking that in my head but I'm not going to say that out loud Unfortunately, I think a lot of people feel that way. Also, I think a lot of people prefer to go to a concert and hear the artist sound "just like on the album". I think that is why we see so much lip synching, etc. I know all of us here look forward to Adam's different interpretations. I mean, just think how many times we've heard Mad World and just when we think we've heard enough, he changes it up in a great way. That is sooooo true. And they are disappointed if it doesn't. Why go to a concert if you can just listen to the album. Hell of a lot cheaper.

Hey Friends.....HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!
I'm just back from a doublely delightful pair of concerts! Each special in it's on kind of way. And no ,you can't say one's better than the other.....they are always fantastic.....but each has it's own "feel". The Biloxi venue was lovely with great sound in the balcony where many of us Atoppers sat. My only complaint was that security would not let those in our area stand. This was the first time in 5 years where I was forced to sit. Several in my area would try to stand and dance only to be put back down in our seats. I must have had that bright flash light shined in my eyes a half a dozen times. Each time the gal in front of me would stand, I'd stand too so I could see. It was a game of see-saw all nite. But other than than......the show rocked at The Hard Rock. There was a M&G line in the balcony that was comprised of about 15 people...I assume arranged by Hard Rock.
Things ramped up for the NYE show. The venue itself was a huge flat floored convention type room with a set of risers in the back. Not very "pretty". lol. I sat next to the lady from Adamlambertphotos.org. She had a big lensed camera and told me she took about 1,000 pics and would have them up in a few days. I was in Row AA of the VIP section and had a great view of the stage and my sound was great. Several others have told me that their sound was not great. I was located midway between the center speakers and the end stage speakers behind the 3 rows of "high roller" seats. Thru most of the concert the "high rollers" in front of me sat, so I had great, unobstructed views. I noticed before the concert started that a group of about 30 people were escorted back stage for a type of M&G. When that was finished, I asked a husband and wife who were sitting in front of me in the RC...reserved 3rd row....if they had just had a M&G and the husband....who was decked out in an Adam shirt, etc. and whose wife was a huge fan... said yes they had. He was silly and goofey with a top hat on, so I asked the wife if they were "high rollers" and she said that they were from Vegas and frequented the casinos there. She said that she was responsible for bringing about $10,000 worth of business to the Winstar thru booking rooms and MIST packages, etc for others. She then said "Do you get my drift?" So, my takeaway was since they were Adam fans, they were being comped two seats in the Reserved Section and given a M&G. There were other non-Adam fans there. 2 other Glamberts on front row and..some members of the Chicksaw nation. The 2nd row in front of me had about 10 empty seats.
I won't go into the music.....it was sooooo good. I was blown away with Red House. First time I'd ever heard that song...now I can't get enough of it. The vids are great,( a special thanks to my dear TALC friends and others) but as everyone has said....nothing can compare to being there.
Adam keeps getting better and better and seems to be feeling happier and happier. We've discussed his new confidence, his "ease", his richer/lower vocals, his skinny bitch bod....lol, on and on. I trust him when he says that 2014 is gonna be wild......I'm ready.
Special thanks to Grandduchess for organizing the party(s) and to Momtomany for sharing her room with a hoard of wall to wall Glamberts who rang in 2014 as FRIENDS ....some for about 5 years now.....all because of Adam.

I hope I haven't put this up here before, but this is how Adam doing Hendrix makes me feel - so bluesy. Actually this is how Adam makes me feel all the time <----- Think of that as a blues smiley Thanks for posting the Keb' Mo' vid, I loved it. 'She just wants to Dance' is so me. I listened to a few others and then I saw video of him with Bonnie Raitt and was in heaven. I have loved her music since my college days.
