As long as Adam feels he is free to create and perform, and as long as he has kindred souls to join him in his work, and ---- as long as he doesn't get distracted or seduced by people telling him what he SHOULD be doing to be a superstar, and what the measure of that is ---- Adam will be happy. I think he wanted to reflect on that and remind his fans to do the same. No matter what "forward motion" ends up being, if Adam is happy creating music (and making enough money to support himself and a little bling) then we fans should be happy as well. IMO. I AM happy for/proud of Adam and all his accomplishments to date, and I can't wait to see what's coming next! I know I'm preaching to the choir. But consider how tough it is to make it in show business, how fickle the business and the public can be, and how much resistance Adam has encountered from the still-homophobic segments of the U.S. and the world. While battling all that (and keeping his warm, sunny personality intact and his ego in check along the way), he's become recognized as a global star and one of the best voices (if not THE best) of his generation. He has admiration and respect from millions, including entertainment legends. And while his rise may not have taken place as fast as he and we may have wanted it to, he's poised to graduate to the very top of the A list. If Adam ever had any doubts about whether he could make a successful career as a performer, I hope he's left those doubts way behind now. His tweets demonstrate that he has. |
