I agree! Both Kristen and Malaya were not good. Are they just sending 1 home per week?

Bringing this over from yesterday's thread;
I'm not sure what has gone wrong with Idol. The auditions and Hollywood week were great. Last week they put it down to nerves and not knowing if they were going to get to perform or not and not being used to ear monitors. This week they are still blaming the ear monitors, but the audience look so bored and I don''t recognize half the songs. This looks like an amateur talent contest which I guess it is but the contrast with the professionalism on 'The Voice' it's like night and day.
The atmosphere and excitement has left the building.

Where did everybody go? Are you all busy with tickets? or is Idol that boring/not that great? Was anyone else surprised that Sam was in the bottom 3? I was and wasn't at the same time. He does have a great voice and he should appeal to the young girls, but talk about looking uncomfortable on stage!!! I was also surprised about Majesty, though her last song was not good. I was not surprised that Ben went home.

I've always wondered if the "bottom three" really is the bottom three. I don't question that the person sent home got the least votes, because it would be fraudulent if they fudged about that, but since the other two get saved, couldn't Idol just throw any two people in there for dramatic purposes? Sam seemed like a shoo-in from the beginning--cute kid who appeals to young girls, and has a great voice--so maybe they put him in there to shake things up? I don't know. I'm still not convinced that Adam was in the bottom two after his performance of "Feelin' Good." I mean--come on!
I think Sam could still win this thing, even though he seems awkward and self-conscious. Performance skills are something that he could learn with experience. Malaya, on the other hand, seems to have all the confidence in the world and therefore can't be convinced to stop yelling at us. I really dislike her singing although the judges, even Harry, are going for it.
Anyone else get the impression that Harry was told to stop criticizing so much? That's too bad, because these kids could really use some constructive criticism. Someone must have decided that all the special little snowflakes deserve a trophy--which is weird, because no one ever tried to stop Simon from bleating out his cruel but useless insults in the past. Telling someone that their performance was "a complete and utter mess" really doesn't help them improve, does it? But pointing out exactly where they went astray could provide incentive for a better performance the following week.

What honestly surprises me this year are CJ who cannot sing in tune for his life....he is not good...not at all. He is, however, your classic under-dog I suppose....do not get it. The other one that keeps sliding by is Dexter....who is also not that good. At least I can see why the little girls would vote for Sam....but face it, the little girls never formed the majority of the viewers, just the voters. Now that Idol has fixed the voting loopholes somewhat, those little darling have got bored with the game and that is Sam's ace!
Disappointed about MK....that she could go before either of the afore mentioned suggests that the US still has a serious gay-phobic demographic to deal with. just saying.....gotta be disheartening. I don't think she could or should win....but she is certainly much better than this result would indicate.

I thought CJ was quite good last week. This week however he was a disaster. I have never thought that MK was very strong or very good any of the times I've heard her. If tradition holds and it's mostly boys left standing then the girls will get picked off one by one. I think the facebook photos of those who vote is an interesting snapshot of who does vote in this show anymore.

Yes, I find the facebook photos interesting too. I know the majority of viewers for Idol are of the female sex, but as they were rolling the tape, I had to start searching for some men who voted for MK. I really thought that CJ should have gone home after that last performance -- he really was so out of tune that it was unpleasant! Anyone have any thoughts on why Majesty keeps ending up in the bottom 3? I think Alex is the most musical, but he does lack stage personality and presence -- how hard is it to crack a genuine smile? -- also I find his moving feet distracting. Does anyone else think that this year, the camera is focussing a lot on the judges while the contestants are singing? What's that all about????

I'm sorry to say that I find this group a little boring! I just can't work up much interest. It is hard to believe that these are the best contestants they could find.
